Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

There she is, not so wounded as we were led to believe

still sunk but whatever killed her didn't inflict the sort of catastrophic damage an ammo cook off would likely yield

Wow great photo.

I'm impressed they were able to get such a clear picture despite the heavy seas and massive storm that was reported in the area at the time which ultimately caused the obsolete, expendable flagship of the Black Seas Fleet to first be struck by the missiles masked by the heavy sea state and then finally sink her... Him? Them? It.

Russian students are apparently being honored by sitting at the desk in the front of the class emblazoned with the names and faces of Russians who've died in the Russian Liberation Operation. Look at how honored they appear.

Notice the local Spetsnaz School Resources Officer in the back.

Ukrainian forces showing more armored vehicles recently captured during counterattacks on the Kherson Front reportedly.

Ukrainians operating and modifying a captured Russian T-72 with extra reactive armor bits.

Russia meanwhile seems to be adapting interesting new reactive armor placement patterns.

Russian forces being crowdfunded new boots and Chinese electronics through Russian social media.

Russian SAM manufacturing reportedly shutting down.

Not to worry though since the workers have been offered the option of unpaid leave or volunteering for military service in Ukraine! Nice.

Large Russian artillery bombardment reported in the Donbass Region.

Christopher Miller has a tweet thread on it developing.

Could this be the beginning of a new offensive or yet another cunning feint? We'll find out in a few weeks!

Azov Regiment Fighters reportedly ambushing Seperatist Militias forces in Mariupol. Well equipped Seperatist forces were apparently transiting in civilian vehicles.

None of the Chechen TikTok Battalion close enough to rescue them. Sad.

United Kingdom planning to provide Stormer HVM Units to Ukraine. These fire the short range Starstreak missiles as well.

Reportedly the Commander of one of the Ropucha-class Landing Vessels, the one struck almost a month ago in Berdyansk, was apparently mortally wounded in that missile strike in the Berdyansk port.

And some random War Porn nonsense.

Allegedly video of a Ukrainian soldier lobbing a grenade over a wall. A Russian soldier bravely tosses the grenade into nearby troops who happen to be Russian as well.

Video reportedly of a Ukrainian tank striking a Russian BMP on the other side of a building.

Victoria's Secret? Could this be referencing something? :p

Sergei Lavrov confirming the next stage of their "Special Military Operation" is done.

Lotsa impacts on Ukrainian positions. Some Twitter commentators are stating that Russia is going to be really using a lot of artillery fire to try and make up for their lack of troops.

Attacks being made in the Donbass in the Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkov Oblasts as well as towards Zaporizhzhia on the Dnieper and beyond Kherson (the initial attacks which were already repelled apparently).

Estimated $100 billion in damage to Ukranian infrastructure during this noble Denazification effort.

Rob Lee pointing out that due to USA and Ukraine being very different militaries, USA doesn't quite have the right ordinance in some cases that Ukraine might desire or require most.

Partially or Largely Independently or self funded Norwegian Volunteer Paramedics are reportedly operating in Ukraine.

Attacking well dug-in forces includes massive use of arty or carpet bombing. So, for Russia, that is know to be a arty lover, is no surprise. Is also, very probable that you also see using Tu-22Mx doing said carpet bombing - with, probably a generous use of thermo-baric ones. Is SOP, after all. You really, really, don't want to be at the receiving end of the Russian delivery. If it hits the right (or wrong, depending on your position) places, that his.
Thermo-barics are real nasty against fortified positions. Basically, nullified much of said defenses. And, btw, are not in the war crimes list - i think because they are deployed after said rules are codified, but that is my personal opinion.

Czech companies will be servicing damaged Ukrainian T-64 tanks for now and maybe expand to other models later.

The Netherlands is pledging to send armored vehicles as well. Specifics not yet known.

And Canada is pledging to send 'heavy artillery.'

Fighting continues in Mariupol where upwards of twelve BTG's of the Russian military are tied up still mopping up a (according to estimates here) a negative amount of Ukranian defenders.

Unintentionally ironic marking on that destroyed Russian Tigr.

😏

Russian nationalist blogger Anatoly Karlin believes that Ukraine has lost its right to exist as an independent state and that so would Russia if it will "fail to put Ukraine out of its misery". He also suggests increasing the size of the Russian forces in Ukraine from 200,000 troops to 500,000 troops. Interestingly enough, I don't actually see and hear himself personally volunteering for this, which is a huge shame since he would bring some badly needed diversity to the Russian military due to his quarter-Lak ancestry!

Sad day for the Chechen TikTok Battalion.

Someone's reportedly been shooting them whilst they've been innocuously making TikTok videos near Mariupol.

Twice... In the same area... SMH.

In more serious news...

Pentagon reports that foreign assistance has helped Ukraine rebuild and repair it's Air Force, bringing old airframes back into operable condition to the point Ukraine has more operational airplanes now allegedly then they did two weeks.

Russian missile managed to take out a Humanitarian kitchen in Kharkov.

Ongoing cleanup efforts in Bucha.
