Russia-Ukraine War Politics Thread Mk. 2

Yes it is smart I wish we would do stuff like this to those we don’t like.
It only works on countries where third worlders want to live and also they have a retarded legal system and culture that more or less frown upon even kicking them out across the border even most politely, nevermind beating or shooting them for trying to bumrush the border.

The UK?

Yup, and France is already doing that to them. Of course it also takes a government that doesn't have own leftists who will care too much about the migrants, especially if the target side somehow suddenly wises up.

@mrttao
Hey I like most of Europe but I wouldn’t mind flooding the English with rapefugees after all the Arabs are more civilized than the English.

This is fucking genius, and does anyone seriously think the Russians had to force any of these migrants or that they would bother going through the effort of doing so? They probably just advertised a free trip into the EU to a country where it's easy to crossover into Sweden and Norway.

Look the Russians are just promoting much needed immigration to offset Finlands ageing population, but honestly I'm kind of fucking happy about this. Good on the Russians to prove Orpo's point and spit in the face of the Social Democrats.

Edit: If Orpo uses this well he might be able to finally push through those immigration reforms.
Are you okay? Do you need help?

Nah I'm just one of the few people here that has at least a surface level awareness of the politics of the countries surrounding Russia, rather than just shouting: Russia bad, U.S.A, U.S.A!

Orpo is the incumbent conservative prime minister in the finnish government, and this year he's been trying to push through immigration reform to lower the amount of migrants in Finland, and both members of his coalition and the opposition party have been dragging their feet on the issue and trying to stall respectively.

So Russia weaponizing immigration at this exact moment is both hilarious and beneficial if Orpo can capitalize on it correctly.

Edit: And if the Finns do close their borders I hope he starts shipping them to Norway next, they need a kick in the balls.

Edit2: The phrase 'promoting much needed immigration to offset Finlands ageing population' was meant to be a sarcastic reference to the previous administration's immigration stance. A reference that in hindsight most people wouldn't get.

They just closed the borders and are now building an actual wall with sensors in the Taiga as a trip wire in case the Russians try their Soviet shenanigans again. There are three entry points in the Kola Peninsula that are open but have military units reinforcing the Border guards. Those are going to close if nothing changes.

Yes, like I said it's beneficial that the Russians did this. Like do you need work on your reading comprehension or something?

The fact that Finland is finally getting its fucking act together in response to this is what makes it beneficial, the fact that they're tightening their borders and raising border walls is a fucking good thing in my book. And if Orpo capitalizes on this properly he can use it to hobble his left-wing opposition.

Soldier's wives protest in Moscow. That's something unusual...

That's amazing old boy, I haven't heard such good news since we were crushing it in Vietnam, or Afghanistan or Iraq or Syria. Man I can totally trust these guys now, because we're winning and we've always been winning for the last 60 years. After all our government and media are and have always been totally honest!

Leaks? What leaks? The Pentagon never leaks, and the fact that we arrested a guy for leaking from the Pentagon doesn't really mean anything.

But...our goverments and media must be trsustworhy, right? they support democratic values, after all!
Jokes aside - in our times there is no choice between good and bad, only bad and worst.
And,sometimes even that is impossible, becouse we get worst anyway.

Ok I'm trying to be charitable to them.

But lets face facts, the Soviets were in Afganistan for 10 years before they left. Anti war protests are pretty normal once a war has hit a few years and Russia right now hasn't lost nearly enough people yet to really hit their quit button. They maybe have lost more then 100,000 but Russia has been in wars where they lost millions of people and didn't quit.

This war is going to be a long one, and it takes a lot more casulities to even get the russians to even think about quitting.

And if Pentagon leaks, it only leaks 100% true info, not shit estimates by some overpaid chair jockey nor intentional crap for funny people :cool::cool:
Yeah, get better lines, i've seen better ones in /chug/, go tell this shit to some edgy anarkiddies.

When was the last war when millions of Russians died? WW2 that was an existential war for Russia after the Germans attacked them. This is an imperial war if they lose they get wounded pride and bad relations but their nation won’t be occupied or genocided. It makes sense for people to not have the same appetites for Imperial war as defensive war.

Well, kgb mafia who rule there really belive, that without Ukraine they could not be superpower, and Putin personally is responsible for doing so.If he do not conqer Ukraine, his friends would kill him.
So,for him it is existencial war now.

Yep they probably are 100% true info, since people in America generally only get arrested and charged when they're telling fucking truth. It's just standard policy when it comes to leaks, if you want the quintessential example of this then just look at the wikileak situation.

And the edgy anarkiddies aren't the people that actually need to hear this so telling them would be pointless, whereas disabusing you of your naive tendency to believe everything a person of authority tells you does serve a purpose. Because the only reason that politicians get away with so much for so little effort is the fact that people like you are so common, i.e the people that refuse to accept that the government might be lying to them.

The major difficulty of this is largely due to the fact that people like you tend suffer from selective amnesia of the sort where you forget every fact that doesn't mesh with your personal worldview the moment you stop paying attention to it. Which is why you have to be reminded over and over and over again, in the hopes that one day it'll actually stick which will also be the day you'll have finally grown up.

Unconditionally believing in authority figures is fine for children, but it's a societal disease when adults do it in a large enough number.

Which is why instead of mollycoddling you by lying I am instead going out of my way to tell you that this war isn't going to be any different from the previous 8, and that some time after the fact it'll slowly come out that the government and the media were lying about the casualties and about how well war was going just like they did in every other war. And then like every other time this has happened throughout your life you're going to try to ignore it and forget about it, just so that you can repeat your mistake by unquestioningly buying into the next war the government is selling.
