Lol what? No the tribes have existed for a long time. Unless you mean civilization in the sense of being civilized instead of the culture or norms of a people, African cultures are not young.

Egypt would like a word.
I know most consider Egypt it's own thing, not truly 'Africa', however pretty much no one else has the continuity of civilization that the Egyptians do, even with the different rulers they've had over time.
Edit: And more on topic, the Swiss are no longer neutral in this conflict, it seems. So congrats Putin, you got a trifecta of turning formerly neutral nations into people willing to back Ukraine.
True enough First christianed polish ruler /Mieszko/ and his son/Bolesław/ were dudes which ancestors conqered nearby tribes,and had no problems with selling some to jewish slavers like Ibrahim ibn Jakub.

Ukraine isn't getting into NATO. People might publicly pretend but one of two things ends up true.
1) Russia is defeated so badly in Ukraine that they cease to have a functional military (outside of, perhaps, their nuclear forces). In which case NATO is basically irrelevant as the enemy is gone.
or
2) The war continues in some combination of hot and cold. In which case the US will veto NATO membership even if all of Europe was in favor (and they wouldn't be) because adding Ukraine to NATO while it is in a state of war with Russia starts full blown WW3 and the nukes fly.

Russia is committed to this war to the bitter end. They will continue to fight Ukraine until Russia becomes physically unable to continue the fight and/or victory is achieved. And ultimately, Russia probably would go nuclear if it perceived that as the only way to win in Ukraine.
For Russia this is an existential war that is has already paid the economic price for fighting. And it is a war that the entire Russian political establishment (even the opposition) is largely on board with and intends to fight to the bitter end.
Russia is absolutely willing, and able, to embrace massive war crimes if it perceives a tactical or strategic advantage in doing so and massively outnumbers Ukraine. The kill ratio that Ukraine needs to maintain is, frankly, fairly absurd.

I think you're way off here. Russia is at a point where they are actively entertaining the idea of a military civil war between Russian units and Wagner. This is just in the idea phase. However, assuming Putin gets off'd or dies sometime soon, they gonna go full blown Warlord era.
Like to note both Japan and china have their own historical claims on Russian territory and since Russia opened that can of worms....

Loool, I was right about this being a big deal, of course Rufus and co back on FiC insisted I was emptily "posturing", that this was a nothingburger and there was nothing to worry about. They ignored warnings that Canadian airspace was closed to Russian planes outside of a life-threatening emergency. They kept ignoring it until fighters scrambled to force them down. They have been barred from Canadian Air for a year now
To a degree. A border patrol car was indeed fired at, with something. Polish articles suggest a BB gun or something like that, it's not known yet, with implication that the projectile was moving at speed low enough for human perception. Either way, it damaged 2 windows in a border patrol car. It's also noted that migrants were throwing stones at border patrol in that area. Could also be some kind of sling or riot control device i think.
Russians have pillaged Belarus of so much military equipment for their War with Ukraine that the Border Guards have been equipped with BB Guns and sling shots.
