Yeah, I actually agree with Marduk here.
If someone claims they are a US citizen yet is onvovled in a group that is killing Americans, they shouldn't be considered being brought back.
Because more people would die trying to arrest them

Follow the law.
Great, catch 22 for criminals and terrorists, enforced by own law. The law is meant to serve the country that creates and enforces it, not the other way around.
Status quo also follows the law, because there is no absolute, overriding all other concerns prohibition on US military killing US citizens in some mad max land far away as part of intervention on some civil war or something like that. It's only some people, claiming very indirect and legally shoddy reasoning that there is one, or just plain personal moral outrage, who claim otherwise.
It's thinking like this that got us in the dire straights we're currently in. What is the Constitution? A piece of paper? Or does it mean something?
It's law of the land. Yemen is not US land, it's not that outrageous to say somewhat different rules apply there. All the truly important issues you may have with US government's behavior and legality of it regard things happening on US land.
On US land the conundrum is solved, because that's where all the US law enforcement organizations operate freely, it's their job to handle such issues there, and they are obliged to work differently than the military, so they can't just drone strike people.

Like the leftists, you are dealing in edge cases. And the US government has already shown itself to be all to eager to act in this way toward its citizens even in its own lands - witness Ruby Ridge and Waco, witness the January 6th political prisoners. All excused by "we have to fight the terrorists." You know, the justification that gave use the Patriot Act. :cautious:

Even less of a reason to care about the more controversial foreign situations (ironically ones that the leftists care about even more than you), when you have far more straightforward situations locally to make your case about instead, nevermind that they regard different institutions.

Follow the law.

Warfare operates under different laws.

And unless they are clearly being held as a hostage (or were specifically sent as a negotiator), a US citizen standing right next to an unlawful enemy combatant at an enemy base on foreign soil, is dealt with under the laws of war, not under the civil or criminal law of the jurisdiction of the USA.

I would just like to see actual declarations of war from our Government.

Looks like North Korea might be pushing closer to recognizing the Donetsk and Luhansk Republics. If this is true maybe North Korea can help replenish Russian and Seperatist Munitions and Armored Vehicles losses. :)

They could train them. They have a past history doing it.

It'd be nice if things were so simple when dealing with terrorist organizations.
It's the bane of being a government fighting an insurrection that can hide. It then becomes victory at any cost because no one can literally shit out replacements to keep it going until an insurgency is just too tired and gives in.

They can be crushed but your going to have to go into very dark places to make that happen.

I know. Agent orange, the Phoenix program, restriction of movement, concentration camps, any of the darker shit of COIN or there's the Roman solution.
