Part of the issue is that it isn't hereditary. The Kennedys, Bush's etc are all from the last century or so, not from the Civil or Revolutionary wars. Get rid of one family and another will pop up a few years later. This kind of nepotism is an easily exploited loophole in the system. A similar case that no one complains about is the Paul family (Ron and Rand). Since elections are based on popular support and campaign contributions, connections and name matter. A father can bring his connections to bear for his son.

If you wanted to get around that, do what they propose doing to prevent racial and ethnic discrimination, select candidates with names and pictures removed. You get a list of issues and their positions and have to vote based on that, no campaigning, financing, no connections, just party issues.

The best outcome is the one I mentioned. He gets screwed over by the dem's openly rigged primaries, gets pissed off, runs independent to fuck them over, GOP wins.

His only hope of winning anything is if he is able to make this become a known threat to the dems, so they let him win the primaries to prevent such a scenario.

If he's a smart political actor, he will leave them with the choice of: let him win the Primaries, or have 4 more years of Trump.

Hmm, I could see it happening actually. The CIA is far weaker now than they were before, much of their power taken over by groups like the NSA and others that we have never heard of. The rest of the intelligence agencies may throw the CIA to the wolves in order to distract the public for another few decades.

That being said, I'd be far less upset with him as president than pretty much any other Democrat. It would return us to the days of having policy differences and preferring someone different, vs the current "holy shit he's going to collapse the entire country and pop off world War 3"

break up the intelligence community to an office in each branch of the military and an annalist unit in the dept of state. Completely bar them from inter-unit cooperation and only allow intelligence sharing to happen at higher levels outside intelligence agencies.

None of them even existed at the start of the last century. A century is a very long time in the current climate. I would be surprised if any of them survived the century, if only because there is so much radical change predicted that the government may not have a currency stable enough to fund them.
