Police Corruption Thread.

Idk what departments you are talking about but every department I tried to get with wanted the best and brightest.
Especially the sheriff's office. They had you do like 4 interviews to get it.

And...*Looks at the cop who almost died to a woman basketball player with a knife in a crowded hallway*
Or...I could pull out the large amount if cases that have had innocents get in the way due to policies that restrict cops.

Oh, and departments with bad shooting are often due to lack of training due to funding.
Or be like NYC and have a 12 pound trigger pull
I got it from a several people in my life who've known people who attempted to become cops, who got turned down for having too high a score in intelligence on the entry tests.

One of them ended up becoming a Forest Service employee, because the Forest Service aren't normal cops and don't just want authoritarians in uniform, like most depts do.

What departments. Call them out, publicly

Especially if they are sheriffs

And..again never seen that or known anyone turned away for being to smart

I think at least one was attempting with Denver PD, the guy who ended up in the Forest Service.

The others I didn't get what depts/area's they were looking at when it happened, only that they did see rejections for having too high a intelligence score.

One of the people who informed me of this was the same former neighbor of mine who used to do work-man's comp cases for the city of Denver. The impression I got every time these facts were relayed to me was that this was not a localized thing, but that depts nationwide would reject applicants who tested too highly in intelligence, because intelligent cops may not take orders less intelligent cops would go along with.

What I was told is that this was not isolated to any specific dept or agency, but was a dirty secret of most US LEO agencies.

Except that is the first I have heard of it and I know plenty in the LEO community, additionally, I know plenty that recruit for LEO.
They want intelligent people especially nowadays.

I think you come from a very different cultural and local LEO tradition than much of the nation.

This is something that I've had told to me by different people since I was in my mid teen's.

It might also be more common in blue then red states and cities

This changes everything, and if the NYPD is trying to throw Penny under the bus to protect their officers who were too grossed out to render aid after arrival, and while the homeless dude Neely was still breathing, then it changes everything.

The NYPD is specifically one of those departments that won't accept people who are to intelligent.

On the basis that intelligent people would become "bored" and resigne after the NYPD spent a lot of money training them. A totally BS sentiment.

They really need someone like Rudy Giuliani to run that department again.

Ahh yeah audit the audit is the guy who does fiesta amendment audits, obvious by the name.
