Musk actually buys Twitter.

It's amusing and infuriating to watch accounts claim Musk's recent wave of suspensions are only targeting those with left-wing affiliations; the intensity of projection is blinding. I already knew they had no shame, but as the world continues to teeter on its rails and they reject or ignore blatant contradictions to their position I've begun to suspect an outright lack of humanity. What pushes a person to accept any level of depravity so long as it benefits them? For the elite I can buy fear as a motivating factor, fear of consequences or loss of power. It's the average participant that stumps me.

Perceived power and status?

The twitter check mark must be one hell of a drug. One virtual membership card and it's just a continuing post of snobbery.
Well, they felt like they were a noble class or the nouveau riche -- lording over the "peasants" (normal users, "undesirables"/acceptable targets to their woke bullshit, et cetera). Musk basically popped that little bubble of delusion.

Amazing to see the same journoscum who insist LibsOfTikTok and AndyNgo are literal terrorists for reposting public info now defend doxing Elon's kids because they do it.
I'll admit I've also seen some on the far right livid that Musk is actually dealing with the real security threat ability live-tweeting people's locations is, and is not being a 'free speech absolutist' when it comes to doxxing, because of how it may spill over into affecting OSINT work.

The delay is a fair compromise, at least in my view; moving down to 12 hours would be better, and putting in carve outs for warzone OSINT work.

However, some on the right are asking how Musk blocking 2nd/3rd party links to the flight tracker stuff is different from suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story, which to me seems like being angry Musk isn't taking the risk of assassination via live-tweeted location lightly after what happened to his kid, and is accepting there are practical issues with bad actors using twitter to organize hits.

It's like they forgot what the Left did during the summer of 2020 using Twitter to coordinate hits and riots, and call out people's locations for attacks.

Musk has openly said if the 10% at the fringes of both sides is unhappy with him, but the remaining 80% are ok with things, he's probably doing things right. Which may piss off some on the far-right, however it looks more like reasonable security concerns to most reasonable folks.

I agree that Musk may be going too far in some ways, but the fact he is doing it openly and isn't just having a entire global media syndicate gaslight people into agreeing with it is a very good thing since it allows actual discussion of it.

Also wake up proof the feds were controlling speech.

They targeted Elon and his family with this shit and put their lives in danger. Just getting banned from twiter is fucking merciful compared to what he could legally do to him.
My understanding is that Musk's looking at the 'what more can legally be done' avenue presently.
The stuff that I've seen shows the flight tracking stuff Sweeney was using had Musk's jet privatized at some point, and it took some coding work that cross-references a different data-base to actually tie it to Musk on the elonjet account.

So while part of the stuff Sweeney was using was open and public, he had to using coding and two difference sources, one of which was not so public anymore, to do what he did towards the end.

Also, more people than Elon use those jets, and going after, or being perceived as threatening, someone's kids has a way of causing drastic reactions.

A total creep
Like I said - have Elon - and some other Rich People - unleash a horde of lawyers and Sweeney will be tied up in litigation until his last breath. And ruined.
