But Zeitgeist of *who*? It definitely has little to do with China. Or Japan. Or Africa. Or India. Or even the majority of population of the West. It's more of a subculture, except unlike most subcultures, it's demographically concentrated in the middle-upper class, rather than the lower middle class. Which makes it appear far more popular than it really is and exert far more influence than it should have.

Update on Twitter Amnesty.
That's not what this is about. The ridiculous thing with Apple, which many people don't know, is that the app store is the *only* way to install apps. On android phones, if app store don't like the piece of software you want, oh well, you go to a website, download an .apk file and install it manually. It's just like PC games, if Steam doesn't have it, you can get it from elsewhere.
On Apple phones, oh no no no, it either goes through the app store or you don't get it at all.
And Apple can decide that it doesn't like your app if it doesn't get a piece of the pie.
It's one of the major reason I've never purchased an Apple product for myself. I despise their business model.

I was/am happy with my Pixel 3A/xl but later Pixels leave me uninterested in upgrading. Motorola still makes a variety of phones and you can find a point you like in there for your budget. I've been considering a flip but I want to handle one in-person before I spend that much on a new phone.
I bought my Samsung S10+ about a year or so ago. Paid cash to buy one that's not locked to a carrier. Can't remember who I bought it from though.
Newegg.com is a good place to look for stuff.

Twitter got back to me... Appeal rejected. Still banned. still want me to debase myself to get back. not gonna do this. lets see if the general amnesty sweeps through. Don't care enough to really bother
