Musk actually buys Twitter.

I'm only concerned about where are all of those purged from Twitter going to end up instead? They won't just stop being who they are.

I hope not Tumblr with those Wacos gone, tumblr has been pretty chill....yes even the furries.

This is bad and it should be fixed.

Agreed. I mean isin't having the right to a fair trial and an attorney within the constitution? it seems like making it pay to win is kinda breaking the spirit of the law.

In the latest act of this drama, Twitter is apparently backing away from taking the offer again.

I wonder if Elon knew this was coming when he offered to pay the original price again.
As much as I don’t want to side with the twits, it’s pretty reasonable to want to continue the court case when Musk is notoriously mercurial and has taken no verifiable action to actually put the financing necessary for the deal into action. I would not agree to suspend the case unless there was an actual done deal, not just an informal offer.

It could be leftards stalling to keep their campaign of lies going to the mid terms (but that's only a month away, right?).
Another possibility is that the legal scumbag hellbound filth is influencing their "employers" to drag out the process. The lawyers won't make money if the case is closed quickly.
In RL I've seen a relatively simple case be dragged out for years by the "legal counsel" of both sides.

EDIT:
Maybe Twitter "the company" has a faction war, where a part of the stockholders and/or of the management wants to sell, while the rest doesn't? Hence "mixed signals"?

Also - is Musk Chaotic Neutral?

If he actually does it, and then keeps his promises to A) fire the bulk of Twitter employees and B) end the rampant cancel culture mentality that presently govens its moderation... and those are are some big 'ifs'... then it'll be the single most useful thing he's done in his career.

Also the most amusing.

This might sound strange, but Musk getting hold of Twitter could be the most devastating blow the current paradigm has suffered.

More than Brexit.

More than Trump.

Losing one of their favourite toys and primary narrative shapers is one Hell of a punch to the gut.

Given what I've seen on Twitter, I'm not nearly as optimistic that Musk removing the left wing tilt toward it will be some crippling blow to the left. In my observation people engaging and "discussing" politics on Twitter are the biggest collection of brainrotted morons in existence. It's like The View, if the show hosts had spent their formative years eating lead paint and huffing gas. Trying to reach out to them on a platform that is intentionally designed to discourse deep, meaningful conversations and instead incentives pared down, thoughtless cliches is pointless.

The only thing an uncensored twitter will do for the right is make them think "oh heavens, these people can vote" about thier own side and the left, instead of just about the left.

If the buy is blocked on NatSec grounds, that is openly admitting that a lot of the activities on Twitter are different brands of glowies bumping up against each other, and with Embassies/politicans using twitter, they do not want it going back into private hands because it will hurt psy-ops/surveillance campaigns of multiple entities.
