Musk actually buys Twitter.

Well he won most of the time. He just got a tad bit unlucky after nearly twenty years of clapping everyone's cheeks.
The british just would not go fucking down.

People underestimate just how much brits endurance and shear fucking spite helped lead to Nappys defeat.
The problem is that no matter how much of an ass-kicking meteoric conqueror you are, if you are at war with basically everyone else... chances are "everyone else" is eventually going to win. Either they defeat you in the end, or your insane contant campaigning just tears you down. Men like Alexander or Napoleon, men who fight the world, are impressive as hell -- but the world beats them in due time.

This is also the risk, nowadays, of openly declaring that the system stooges can go fuck themselves and trying to buck the establishment order. They all turn against you, and they do everything they can to ruin you. Trump ran as a populist, and suddenly countless people who were "friends" for decades would spit on him. Musk was the darling wunderkind, but now he's suddenly the devil.

Never present yourself as an existential threat. If you do that then, logically, your opponents have no choice but to resist you to the last bullet, so to speak. The Gracchi brothers made that mistake in spooking the shit out of the Patricians, and it got them killed and set their cause back pretty badly. The great reformers are usually the ones who point out how dire the situation is and say "I am not your enemy. In fact, I'm trying to prevent your system from imploding entirely. Work. With. Me."

And as for Napoleon? Oddly enough if he'd been a bit more magnanimous, or even lost a war prior to 1812 and accepted some humbling peace terms, he might have turned out alright.

Thing is said establishment is making the same mistake. Wonder how long until they find themselves fighting the world.

Napoleon actually was offered very favourable terms in November 1813 that would have left him as Emperor, and France its "natural" borders.

Even if you were just playing for time they should have been more than reasonable.

And Napoleon will to made compromise. If he take Petersburg instead of Moscov in 1812,dissilved prussia, and made Poland great again, his descendents would rule Europe till our times.
But,he want agreement with Moscov. So he get one - on Elbe.

They seriously can't see that Musk maneuvered them straight into a Catch-22. They were terrified of him buying Twitter because they'd lose their safe space and if he buys it, that will still happen and we'll likely see right-leaning voices no longer silenced. If he doesn't buy it, Twitter's reputation is going to be in tatters, the board will be eviscerated by the shareholders for losing a big payout, and discovery is going to reveal all the skeletons in the closet. No matter how this goes they lose.

And the best part is musk wins either way.

Either he gets a much better deal in buying Twitter, or he just pays the billion dollar fee for leaving after reducing Twitter to a burning shell of its former self and costing them way way more than a billion dollars while it gave him the perfect excuse to liquidate a lot of tesla assets he's been trying to do for a while since he's been saying it's overvalued.

Not really, stock prices since that collapsed and to buy for a price specified in the deal is just a very bad business.

This whole affair WAS a mistake. Or at least had utterly terrible timing.

A judge has fast-tracked the case so it will go to trial in September to see if Musk will be forced to buy.

It's hilarious to see Twitter's shareholder value spike so much on the hope that Elon might buy it.

I think must will be forced to buy it but that he will get a serious discount because Twitter has done a lot of fucky stuff.
