There was the time it took like 5 or 6 maybe it was 8 officers in some city to subdue one man.

Not surprising...How bad was it?

I saw, as in it happened across the street from me, this lady cop who had to be at most 5'3 try and jump on a Haitian who was off his rocker for some reason. Big guy was big, he's got to have been pushing 6'10 and she tried to put him in a chokehold. The dude did pass out, but I think it was more due to whatever was in his system.

Any way he fell backwards and fell on the lady cop who...her head got bounced real bad. I'm also sure given his weight her ribs broke and she prolly ruptured something..

Thing that bothered me more than anything was that there were two older cops telling the guy to calm down and didn't move to back her when she jumped on him.

The lady had to have been young, I doubt if she was over 28, whoever the hell trained her was a spud and the other two cops just standing there.

Any way, for the lurkers, the point we're both making is that a lot of times the problem is either cops not being conditioned and properly trained or cops holding back in the wrong situations due to fear of being jailed for doing their jobs.

The Lefty bullshit the government has been pulling is making me think of going full ancap

Makoto Shishio but Xanatos' office and McNukes? I can see the appeal of anarchocapitalism, hilariously its the same appeal Nazism had..and American progressivism had during the mini financial crisis that lead to the gilded age and then as a result of all the self made icons of that era

Namely, that when faced with the sheer volume of institutional idiocy we're faced with now and they were faced with then, Social Darwinism starts looking less like a shitty idea and more like a practical solution to an impractical problem.

It was 6 on one.

HOLY FUCK...Man and he fought like like a bastard too.

Honestly, I can't tell if they should suspended for dereliction of praised for their restraint or both at the same time, given that it was a road and if he'd managed to grab a gun everyone around them is in danger. That's some impressive restraint that borders on too much.

This should be threadmarked for link to the bodycam unless there's another with more footage.
It's pretty long, but I'm actually pretty impressed by the behavior of the cops there, especially given how resistant and strong Floyd was.

It's also easy to confirm that he started saying that he couldn't breathe soon after being put into the car, and there was little difference in verbiage between those complaints and the ones after he had the knee on his neck. My guess is that the knee went on his neck in order to keep him from resisting while also allowing him to be outside of the car. At some point, after several minutes of the guy screaming that can't breathe he appears to pass out, but the cops are distracted by the onlookers who are talking with them, as well as trying to figure out how to get him to the precinct.

It seems a bit unlikely to me that he would be able to scream for several minutes and then suddenly die of asphyxiation, if the knee's pressure was consistent. Something I heard was that Fentanyl can cause asphyxiation as well. Given the way that he died, and that it was in his system, as well as his earlier complaints, that would be my guess.

It's a botched arrest, but hardly a very badly botched one, certainly not the intentional murder that the masses tried to pin on these cops. Even people who want to deify Floyd will probably not have a fantastic opinion of him after watching his behavior and speech in the video.

It’s out on the internet, can’t get rid of it now, too many downloaded and reuploaded copies

Youtube can only do so much

I mean from what I’ve read people being arrested scream I can’t breath or your hurting me all the time so that plus his other actions leads me to think the cop isn’t a murderer or really even quilts of manslaughter it seems more like just a horrible set of circumstances. I don’t know I’m open to being wrong but that’s my thoughts

I cant breathe is popular when someone is being arrested and pinned to the ground, even if there is nothing being pressed on them. Plenty of videos about it. They often say that even if they are actively resisting and the like. If one says they cant breathe and has been yelling and calling for it for some time, they can obviously breathe

I haven't seen the whole video, the one linked is behind an ad blocker, but my impression is that this rises beyond a very badly botched arrest.

There were 4 officers there and I don't remember hearing that one of them thought to check Floyd's vitals after he came out of the car, before he went silent.

Checking his pulse and pupils might have clued them in something was wrong and he wasn't faking it, but indifference and distraction came out ahead.

This is pretty clear negligent manslaughter, but not quite murder.

People claim to not be able to breathe, and if you can talk you can breathe if your breath is not going faint.

It's not behind an ad block, it's just hard to find. It's in this weird player box. Leave your headphones on and you should eventually hear audio, it started automatically for me.

As for the manslaughter thing, yeah probably, but that's essentially the same thing as a botched arrest in the US. Cops kill people all the time, that he got killed doesn't make him special, the only thing that made his death relevant was that people thought it was intentional.

And that he was black and the Far Left and “black community” seemed more-or-less to be waiting for something to be used

You don't understand chokes.

I'm not saying anything about this new, full video. I haven't watched it yet.

But if you look at the way that man is pinned, his carotid artery and jugular are having pressure applied to them, one by the officer's knee, the other by the curb.

A hold like this can kill you, and can quickly put you to sleep, (4-12 seconds if pressure is properly applied) while only slightly effecting your breathing.

Depending on how the pressure is applied, it could potentially work to knock out or kill, while not restricting breathing at all. Or it could restrict breathing almost entirely, but it's not the restricted breathing that puts you to sleep. It's the pressures caused from the blocked arteries/veins. it's what some people call a "blood choke."

That leaves room for everything in between. Pressures that causes him enough discomfort to say he can't breath, while still getting just enough breath to keep saying it, is 100% realistic. That can still put you to sleep or kill you. It's not about the breathing.

I say this as someone who has been both choked like that, and choked people like that, quite literally, tens or hundreds of thousands of times. I can usually breath while having a choke like this applied, just not very well.

Now I'm not saying anything about Floyd. I'm just teaching you a thing or two about chokes, because your claim that if you can breath, you won't faint, is absolutely wrong.

I am saying in the situations generally presented in these videos where they say they cant breathe. In Army combatives I have nearly passed out from blood chokes many times. I know what they can do first hand. What that officer was doing was not a blood choke or air choke.

You learned some hand to hand in the army, so good, that means you know what a blood choke feels like. Puts us in more even ground when discussing grappling.

I've trained BJJ for six years. I've actually instructed several army guys. You guys make good students and training partners. You come in with motivation and some base knowkedge. it's a fine art though, and what they teach you in the army is essentially like teaching you to use an axe to perform surgery. Sure, you'll get that amputation done, but it ain't pretty. My point being, yeah you're familiar with what a blood choke feels like, but maybe you just don't see how this is a blood choke.

That knee is in that neck, decently deep. Thats absolutely enough to cause issues. It's applying the same kind of pressure as a triangle, guillotine, RNC, etc. I've been put into that exact position. Not long after this incident, I had someone actually do that to me just to test it. It's not as effective as a real choke. As a trained person who is in good shape, 34 and not on drugs, I was able to hold consciousness, but it absolutely causes issues, and it's definitely acting as a blood choke, and would have a much worse effect on an older person who was on drugs and in bad shape...or any one of those three.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a grappler who disagrees. Try it yourself with one of your army buddies. You can even hold your hand up to that part of your neck and apply pressure, and you'll start getting light headed.

The hold that officer had on him, absolutely, 100% could, cause a person to go unconscious.

I have been in a similar situation before I joined the Army, back when I was a LEO and we learned grapples as well.

The Army also trains us to get the person to the ground and to get any advantage as possible, then again they also tell us that in said situation real life one would just use what ever to bash the enemies face in.

Back on topic, I have been in a very smiilair situation in which George Floyd was in, and they did not do the choke correctly as I was only feeling light headed but did not start to see black.

Now add a bunch of fat into your neck and take away the good cardiovascular strength that being young and in shape gives you. That light headedness you got will suddenly be much more severe. Maybe holding it for 8 minutes and 46 seconds will also turn that light headedness into a full black out.

All I'm saying, is that the hold the officer used, very well could knock someone out and kill them. I'm not a coroner, and I'm not saying that's what killed George Floyd, but I am saying, without a shred of doubt, that the hold the officer had on him could kill him.

So according to the transcript given to NYT from this leak, they had this from JUN for one, and two, the officers gave Floyd CPR, and had noticed signs of him going through those issues many times, and were constantly trying to do their job....
