The Americas Mexican trouble

We could always live up to our existing reputation as an evil empire and just annex them like we did with Hawaii. ;)

That will be called Imperialism or Colonialism

Then again, I think they only ever think of that when applied to European countries getting territories outside of Europe

Does Rome count as having been Imperialistic when they took over Israel and parts of earlier Britain and France?

What’s the difference between a Province and a Colony?

Well, given how the Dems want to shred the Constitution anyway, maybe it is time to go full empire before they get into the White House again.

And I'm only half joking about that.
After the Roman Republic failed, the Roman Empire that followed was successful for centuries. It would not be a bad outcome for America, now that our Republic is on the brink of permanent demographic enforcement of socialism.

If a man were to gather up our all media elites, financial elites, political elites, and turn them to ash, I would call him Caesar.

We've already determined in the Mideast, that nation building doesn't work, at least without reducing it to a near tabula raza. I fear the answer to the cartel problem will be massed B52 strikes and maybe even GB.:mad:

As long as you ignore the regularly occurring civil wars. Personally, I'd rather not have our own rendition of the Year of Six Emperors.

Honestly, I hope Libertarianism combined with advanced technologies. eventually replaces the eternal cycles of the rising and falling of civilizationa

Especially when a civilization falls due to it becoming decadent; or simply put getting ran by idiots who focus on lots of dumb unnecessary stuff and overcomplicate or outright ignore simple solutions to problems and make Mountains out of Molehills and fail to really think in advance

What does that even mean?

If we cannot preserve the Constitutional Republic, if we are undeserving and unworthy fools who have lost the Republic of Virtue, then, if there is mercy for us, we will yet write a glorious page with Empire, as the Romans did. That's all it meant. When there is no Ambrosia left, better moonshine than thirst. That's another way to put it.

I wonder, if we abandoned the War on Drugs and allowed controlled, legal access to these substances, could we undercut the cartels enough financially? I mean, they have the resources to presumably diversify, but would they find another product as lucrative as cocaine?

What about Mexico? Does it legalise drugs?

That said, I can see one problem, the Cartels have bigger ability to produce, they would swallow YOU guys up in-terms of who sells drugs better

There is nothing glorious about piling up corpses to serve as the foundation for some charismatic leader's bid to seize power.
