Those things in the picture are not insects. Also fucking terrifying, if you think about it.
In Earth's ancient past, when oxygen levels in the atmosphere were basically at high enough toxic levels for any life now, insects like these were real and roaming around eating other giant insects.
This was after Earth had already had at least one or two evolutions of life and extinction events (IIRC one when the Earth was purple; another when it was basically a lifeless, frozen rock after being aforementioned liquid purple, et cetera).
Who knows what fucking crazy, completely alien (to us now) life existed?
Still fucking terrifying; having what are essentially mini tanks going around eating one another. Those things in the picture are not insects.
What you are thinking of is the Carboniferous Period, with critters like this:
The world's largest arthropod was a car-sized millipede
One of the largest invertebrates to have ever lived once roamed the beaches of ancient England.www.nhm.ac.uk
Still fucking terrifying; having what are essentially mini tanks going around eating one another.
It has been updated.
So almost that bad.
But it won't retire anytime soon
It will.if it keeps working....
And it’s going to fun when reality hits.
It’s Prussia/ Imperial German time!
The ones we're familiar with, yes. But it wouldn't surprise me if there were a giant fucker in the ancient past that cracked other insects' exoskeletons like we'd crack a walnut. shrugMillipedes are plant-eaters.
There were giant scorpions which probably could do so.And maybe some big spiders ,too. The ones we're familiar with, yes. But it wouldn't surprise me if there were a giant fucker in the ancient past that cracked other insects' exoskeletons like we'd crack a walnut. shrug
Okay, I gotta admit I laughed at the last one.
They misspelled Genocide.
this isn't actually a joke.Okay, I gotta admit I laughed at the last one.
It's dark humour rooted in reality. They misspelled Genocide.
This is not even trying to pretend otherwise, just open season full blown genocide.
this isn't actually a joke.
Dark Humor is:It's dark humour rooted in reality.
shrug I saw it as a cynical joke based in dark humour which was rooted in truth.Dark Humor is:
> Stalin said "Dark humor is like food. not everyone gets it".
Not dark humor
> Stalin ordered X million people to be starved to death
the former is a joke about a dark topic.
the latter is just stating a dark topic. there is no joke.
