Which worries me about that particular piece of history repeating.
This is why I reject the idea of "no enemies to the right" that much of the Next Gen Right seems to be pushing.
I agree that Republicans and the Right in general have been much to willing to turn into a circular firing squad, but given how frequently actual malicious ideologies have pretended to be "right wing" and tried to infiltrate the American Right (See efforts by Nazism and old style Democrat Racial Supremacy) we have to be able to gatekeep to a certain degree.
We need to find a happy middle ground between being able to be turned on each other at the whims of our enemies like has happened in the past, and no enemies to the right, where we'll stand up for our own, but we actually define and known who our own are.
