If you don't mind my asking, what religious background do you come from?

"Vague default Christian", to the best of my awareness. Childhood memories are quite limited, but have basically just a daycare service for expressly-Christian activities. Not even the weekly service. Best guess is that my dad took extremely poorly to a deeper expressly-Christian education and as such just didn't bring us along.

Me being so expressly anti-Catholic has nothing to do with that, it's mostly the same structural criticisms behind general Protestant hostility.
