One of the worst moments of family guy was the epidsoid where joe tossed pennys on the ground and i had to admit id probally pick them up if I was in that situation.
I'd just leave them because picking up a penny you dropped or saw someone else drop or intentionally discard is bad luck.

Conversely, if you randomly spot one on the ground and don't know how or why it's there picking it up means you get good luck for the rest of the day.

I don't sweat the small stuff. If I randomly spot a lost penny underfoot I'll pick it up. Otherwise ... meh, I'm not on the lookout for small change. Most people aren't.

Heck, the homeless guy I'm acquainted with has a story of someone giving him so much small change out of their truck's cupholders that his pants were about to fall down from the weight of the coins. He says that when he had it all sorted, counted, and rolled up it came to a bit over $105.

I gave a guy my entire coin jar once too. Was probably around that much.

The look in his eyes was pure shock.

He needed it more than me. I was going to take it to one of those auto counter machines where you can trade in a receipt for cash for a 10% fee, and buy weed with it.

If the guy you gave it to was smart he either rolled it up himself or took it to a bank and let them count it because he can't afford the 10% "convenience fee".

That rarely works anymore. The banks won't count it themselves, they have one of the automatic counting machines right there in the lobby and want to collect that 10% convenience fee. If you roll it yourself they may decide not to trust the rolls, so they can make you use the machine and collect a 10% convenience fee.

Banks know how to get fees out of people.

They'll trust the rolls. If not they'll use a scale and weigh them.

They will send you to rhe machine with loose change.

They'll trust the rolls.
As will most stores. If you took the time to roll up a whole bunch of loose change a clerk is almost always going to take your word that your count is accurrate or off by only one coin.

Only an asshole clerk is going to insist on counting it themselves because an asshole clerk counting it by hand is more costly to the asshole's boss - and wasting everyone's time - than just accepting that if it's not accurate but close enough no one is going to give a shit.

Off by one coin is a rounding error to an accountant.

And I say this as an opponent of Wokeness. Imagine what Wokes in a similar position of power could do.
Yeah. It's a good thing that was blocked.

DeSantis should never be allowed near the White House if he supports suppressing ideas he (more accurately: his handlers) doesn't agree with.

An honest debate requires at least two viewpoints.

The left has been doing that to anyone who disagrees with them for what ten years now? If they get their own back in not going to feel much sympathy

Forgive me if I'm reading the article wrong, but it sounds like the act only bars employers from forcing a particular ideology on their employees; essentially trying to brainwash them. In what way does that violate the First Amendment?
