I find the leap of how this somehow happened because of "racism" to be hilarious.
oh it is indeed hilarious to label a black man slapping another black man as racist.

I've been seeing a lot of that.

These people really call fucking everything racist.

The truth is, that last year was a record low for Oscars ratings. They needed something badly to stir up publicity, and this stunt worked remarkably well.

It got the entire western world talking about the Oscars, it got people online streaming things, it generated hundreds of millions of views and clicks, when 90% of those people wouldn't have even known the Oscars happened.

It was a publicly stunt, and it couldn't have worked better.

it doesn't really help them though. oscars still had low ratings. no one I know plans on watching after this. if it is a stunt it only helps gossip channels produce content based on the oscars. out of the 2 options will smith losing his shit because he is a cuck and his relationship is a sensitive topic it isn't an impossible explanation. either way only chris rock seems to look good after this since his shows are selling out.

most ratings I have seen released are same day ratings. More detailed rating supposedly are to come out on Tuesday.

And really, we will see what happens next year. Next year everyone is going to have this popping up in social media memories for like a week, they up advertising, I'll bet that gets more people to tune in.

Also, this year had a 50% increase in same day ratings as last year, but this wouldn't be because of the slap. I highly doubt the slap could have any impact on same day ratings. This is about the after effects.

The Oscars is tending on my Hulu. I do wonder how many people watched it after the fact.
