Well, obviously race is extremely galvanizing to the average westerner, as racial narratives of the Civil Rights law and the Evils of Whitely to non-whites is basically the defining narrative of all generally relevant history. At this stage, with things like the 1619 project and the only thing I recall ever being discussed about founding fathers in the mainstream in at least the last two years is where they stood on racial questions, I don't think the first sentence is really much of an exaggeration at this point.

So, we live in an era of a hyper focus on race. I'm not sure, in a multi-racial society, how much option there is not to. It seems like criticizing a Lebanese for hyper focusing on the Muslim-Christian frame when discussing Lebanese politics. There certainly are issues that don't hit on that issue, but probably fairly few, especially which don't hit it all. Its a fact of life in that nations politics that the religion issue, well, matters.

To discuss any American political issue pretending blood and soil don't matter, is to miss the elephant in the room. Not dealing with racial narratives is increasingly less an option.

From there, I think it comes down to which particular narrative your dealing with. The one above, for example, purpose is to attack the "whites oppress blacks" narrative, that on average Whites dramatically subsidize blacks. An attempt to push back on the narrative that the only reason blacks are failing because whites don't do enough for them, which is a very common refrain.

Furthermore, this specific one seems to push to the other side that whites are, in effect, being oppressed by blacks, much in the way Russians apparently were feeling oppressed by Cubans and the other subsidized states of the USSR. This is a historically effective strategy.

Different topics of racial discussion would then have different goals. Since basically everything currently gets filtered through race, having to discuss race at least to challenge current orthodoxy is probably necessary, and for some goals may be beneficial.

Turn cow farts into Starship or Neutron fuel...not a bad idea. That methane they just fart away could be collected and sold to boost us to the stars.

Now we just need to get some cheap collection rigs and pressurization systems.

Now collecting methan from sewage treatment and landfills makes far more sense. The latter already collect methane to prevent explosions, but typically burned it off do to zoning regulations the last I checked.

The one near me does collect the methane, but doesn't flare it off; instead it collects it for pressurization and adds it to the local natgas supply.
