China is one of the largest poluters in the world and often times puts america to shame, honestly the record of communist states on the environment is fucking horrible.

Soviet Union almost completely destroyed the Aral Sea, heavily polluted much of Siberia in the quest for resources, and contaminated much of the Pripyat Marshes with nuclear radiation through Chernobyl.

And that only took around 45 years (1945 is around when they started and they died in 1991).

China's even worse, considering they started going full industrial pollution in the early 1970s.

The Army isn't the group most likely to be the initial combatants if things go hot with China, and operating shore batteries of Anti-ship/anti-air can only do much if the Navy is undertrained, under prepared, and undergunned.

At this point I have more confidence in the JSDFs ability to defend Taiwan than the USN surface fleet.

HR departments/"safety departments" and related are a cancer that destroy all companies/groups which they inhabit. The people in charge create paperwork for the sake of paperwork and their jobs are never complete because if they ever completed it they would no longer be needed and thus keep finding more problems/causes/initiatives to keep themselves employed. They drain time and money from the actual productive employees and stifle any attempts at innovation, keeping things workable/realistic or actually getting work done.

I have personally seen this happen and lived through it.
