Meme Thread for Both Posting and Discussing Memes

Even if we accepted your claim here, which is readily disproven by the existence of socialists who are members of various religions, it still doesn't change the fact that it was specifically the atheist socialists and communists who performed the majority of the incredible butchery of the 20th century.
Except they weren't atheists, their religion was the Marxist Dialectic. They had this bizarre, apocalyptic belief that the collapse of civilization was always just around the corner and they'd be in charge once it happened. Some even wanted to hurry it along.

Not all religions have gods. Look at Buddhism.

There are atheist religions, yes.
Because "atheist" does not mean "does not believe at all in anything".

You can't call yourself an atheist while still holding metaphysical beliefs.

a
:
a lack of belief or a strong disbelief in the existence of a god or any gods
b
:
a philosophical or religious position characterized by disbelief in the existence of a god or any gods

so no. in fact it is just a rejection of gods and dieties. not a rejection of spirituality in it's entirety. the word you are thinking of is a materialist. Ideals, metaphysical arguements, and even belief in the soul could be beliefs an atheist holds.

And the Big-C Communists who did all that mass-murder were explicitly Materialists, not just Atheists.
What they were not, is Nihilists. Believing in something, devoting their lives to the cause, being willing to die if it would help bring the Revolution and the Classless Society...

Seriously, if people like Soli really think that spreading Atheism would turn everyone into apathetic consooomers who believed in nothing and could be exploited without any danger of them resisting... they'd have another think coming when the Comrades showed up with AK's and Molotovs.

Atheist 'totally not religions' have killed more people by an order of magnitude than any other religion in human history.
If you break it down to the specific positions that are had instead of an overarching label of one that isn't what you'll find is that the problem is Utopianism, which only came to be because of Christian theology regarding an omnibenevolent creator spawning the Idealists. And if you look at the rates to correct for 20th century utopians having orders of magnitude more people to kill, Chinese dynastic politics and Steppe conquests still beat Communism.

Gen Z has no idea that back in the 90s
basically everyone just got along, more
or less, like with race and stuff. It's really
bad that they don't know firsthand
that was possible and worse they got
brainwashed by Marxists at school to
believe it's impossible.

@DissidentFrau

This goofy goober take is so common you would not believe how many people think just because they could peacefully sit at home, and watch "Fresh Prince" that race relations were at their best. This is always a dead giveaway that the person you're speaking to has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. If you think race relations are bad now, google Reginald Denny. Look up the 20 years of what lead to that moment. Look up why the LA police are so "docile" now, go look at what crimes they were reacting to.

Have a look at the anti-gang units of the 90's from Baltimore, LA, NYC, etc.

Pop culture/hollywood is meant to lull you, and make you think everything is cool. *narrator voice* It was in fact not cool.

It IS true, and religious communities were politically neutralized in wesgerm countries because it's true. They just couldn't stop killing each other and their own people. It's like a mania, you just can't live and let live.

Look at countries where religion still has power. The Islamic world is hell, India is hell, Africa is hell. And it's all because of religious mania.
No, in Western countries religion still has power. It just happens to be an atheistic, secular religion.

not a meme 1st and foremost. and to the content? it depended. for most people yeah race relations were fine outside certain urban areas. the problem is those areas had a big majority and minorities had to integrate. other places however never were good and people pretended that they were so long as it wasn't on the T.V. or in their town.

No, race relations were way better in the 90's and early 2000's.

They weren't perfect, but pop culture, conservative culture, liberal culture, all agreed that color--blindness was the way to go, and 'not seeing race' was morally correct. The common view was that racism would die as a cultural issue with the last of the crusty old racists who refused to give up their ways, and once Xbox live brats grew out of their edgy tween phase. It was known that there were some specific democrat cities/rural areas where it was still an issue, but those were the trace holdouts fighting the tide.

Obama being elected was supposed to be the last nail in the coffin of racism as a whole-society issue, but then, well, we got the actual Obama, rather than the racial reconciliationist he pretended to be in his first campaign propaganda.

The festering evil of intersectionalism, cultural marxism, etc, had been growing as a tumor in academia for some time, but Obama empowered and pushed it, on top of a host of other things. Everything's been going downhill since.
