Honestly wouldn't pass the sniff test for me...
Imagine Right Wingers mistaking Jeffrey Goldberg's identity for someone else... Wild.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Elon Musk was quick to apologize Monday for DOGE mistakenly laying off the one government employee whose job it was to prevent journalist Jeffrey Goldberg from being in war strategy group chats.

Yeah.
So I don't think this leak was accidental, at all.
I think someone decided that a little bit of questioning and initial embarrassment was worth the trade off. Because what's in these messages? Nothing damning. In fact, they all came out of that looking pretty good.
Also, when I read the messages, they just seemed...I'm not sure how to describe it. They just seeme fake. It just doesn't feel like a genuine interaction. That could be because the serious nature of the conversation, but idk, it's like an uncanny valley type of thing. My subconscious or something insists there is something off about this.
So there's two options here. One is that these guys are very competent and professional, and hold similar views behind closed doors as they do to the public, and one guy accidentally invited the editor in chief of one of their main rival news sources into the chat. The other is that these guys organized a leak and staged a conversation to make themselves look good when it accidentally leaks.
Here's the thing, that second option? I wouldn't put it past ANY politician, it's very easy to pull off, and they walk away from this with no dirt on them. It just SHOUTS "this is too perfect, something is off."
Then of course, it wasn't just some random journalist who was invited. It was one of the "worst" and most big profile ones fucking possible. It's just too perfect of an accident for me to believe it was an accident.
Yeah, i think it was set up.
Edit: I did just think of a potential third and forth option. That's that the guy who added him was deceived into thinking he was someone else, or he is a rat and added him intentionally.
