Pretty sure africa is shit because of its crap geographic hand, the lack of navigable rivers is a really shit deal.
And "navigable" doesn't necessarilary mean "big". Just think of all the places in the US two people can get a few hundred lbs of cargo to from New Orleans, LA using just a canoe, two paddles, and enough places to stop and rest at. Parts of West Virginia and Canada are reachable.

it gets worse moving things on water when you add up all the costs is a tenth of the price of moving stuff on flat land, and that shit gets worse when you add in mountains and other rough terrain. Really if we didn't fuck over our economy with the fucktarded jonestown act our economy would be even more dominate then it is now.

Ummm, what is this 'Jonestown Act', do you mean the move to strict liability following the Johnstown Floor?

I think he means the Jones Act, and how it relates to ship construction/ship ownership issues in the US, which was one of those 'seemed like a good idea at the time' things that has come back to bite us in the ass.
