There's a difference between Russia and the Soviet Union.
The Soviets supposedly funded and instigated a lot of bad, bad stuff in the West, in an attempt to weaken it.

The enforcement comes from the fact that what Russia thought would be a quick 3 day operation has turned into a 1.5 year bloodbath.

If Russia considered that something completely unaccaptable it would be over by now.
If Kremlin gets a victory deal now, the lesson they will take out of it is that they can have a bloodbath, get a win, and still get away with it.
For the record they will not take anything that's not an obvious victory deal.
Now apply that lesson to the future.

Ukraine would rebuild, reinforce their borders, and a bolstered military and be even more prepared for any future attempts. No more thoughts of a 3 day operation and easy win. That's what stops them next time

That's why Ukrainian side has no interest in any deals that de facto freeze the war.

I have a very hypothetical take here, but considering the fact that the Chinese version of Tiktok is MUCH MORE conservative-oriented than mainstream ("Western") Tiktok, you could argument that everything we could see as degenerate, cringe, thirst trap, inhuman and idiotioc is actively pushed through algorithms to sow dissent or just simply distract enough.

But I don't think we have, as far as I know, more than circumstantial evidence for this. I am not even aware if there are any laws in any country that explicitly forbid this kind of propaganda-dissemination unless we take into account Persian Gulf countries and even there I am not sure there are proper laws against it, maybe cultural norms ?

Otherwise you wouldn't have India banning Tiktok or other states and countries coming close to that.

What we do have is plenty of slightly stronger evidence is that US and European companies and others are very deeply involved with PRC due to investment, the most clear example was Activision and Blizzard, both of which got their butts handed to them in the end, despite probably being "ass-lickers" (as we say in Italy) to the Beijing regime.
