WW2 is very crazy time for Italy especially the ISR because it was a mish mash of factions. The Carabinieri sided with the Kingdom and the police force as far as I remember was divided on the issue.

I was talking about the period after ww2, corruption has been a problem for a very long time.

Oh, in general law enforcements are a mixed bag in Italy. They are usually not incompetent like (American) Dem cities and not brutal as the crazies in Australia. Most of the time when they show up in Northern-Central and sometimes South Italy the situation de-escalate massively.

Sometimes they get overboard like a station of carabinieri/policemen sued everyone they could find that liked posted on Facebook that criticized them.

So, at worst I am very wary of them, at best I am ambivalent.

I just steer clear of them and when I do find them in the same direction (a few days ago) I don't screw around and keep my shit together.

The pandemic left me very dubious of law enforcement with the Carabinieri (Military Police) and the Police force of Italy.
Yeah. I post these because I get the sense that conservatives on the site (and off the site, tbf) go through a reflexive "back the blue" mentality every time that lefties criticize the police, not realizing that it doesn't help. The leftists have a very good strategy that's designed to pin righties into a stupid position, and righties tend to be fine going for it.

Basically: find a legit criticism of police, get public sympathy, propose a 'solution' that makes everything worse, blame Republicans for not doing the solution. And republicans, because they are dumb, do one of two things: either give in and do something that's not as bad but still entirely dumb, or bury their heads in the sand shouting "Nothing's wrong!". Instead, republicans need to find the actual solutions, and get those through (a classic example of them doing this right is body cams for cops).

The second strategy they have is find an illegitimate criticism of the police, intentionally cry wolf, republicans find out it's fake, so republicans are more likely to say that the actual problems found are also fake.

Do you take me as a Conservative in the American sense?

Because I consider myself only culturally traditionalist and economically leftist on many issues but not all them.

A problem is a problem however.

No, just explaining why I post it. It's a fairly America centric reason with an America centric meme (thin blue line flag), so it was interesting seeing a Italian comment on it as well.

This is kind of real for me.

I got single again and for once I am very inclined to stay that way. The previous girl taught me what is to be love and be loved back and frankly I am not going even to put an effort into some women who give them their number and reply one or three times when I am only organizing meet ups, picnics or parties or can't reciprocate the same amount of attention I give them.

we live in an era of purposeful uglyness, and people are getting real sick of it.
When I was in college the complete works of Shakespeare was the textbook for a graduate-level English class. I would be surprised if a HS English teacher is as literate as either of my daughters because I keep a copy of Shakespeare - all of it - in my car.

Beautiful hot redhead scientist woman is beautiful. Ugly CGI Whoopi Goldberg clone is ugly.

This is starting to feel like one of those sci-fi stories in which aliens arrive on Earth and start changing the climate and the ecology to be more like the world they came from, when the reason that they came from there is that they'd messed it up so badly that they all had to leave.

They made April into Irma. How do we stop Seth Rogan?
