If I recall correctly the Anti-Defamation League came about because an all-white jury, prosecutor, and judge in Jim Crow pre-WWI Georgia convicted a Jewish man - Leo Frank - who basically used "that nigger did it" as his defense for a murder charge.
Black people weren't even allowed to testify in court in Georgia back then and it was also state constitutionally illegal for a black person to even be in Oregon ... which is where Princess (my wife) was born.
If southern white guys from a time and place were a black guy would be lynched by the KKK for even looking at a 13yr old white girl with the slightest of lewd intentions all agreed that Leo Frank's defense was bullshit they were probably right.

Yeah the ADL was founded explicitly to rewrite history on the Leo Frank case.
It's hilarious how absurd they push it to claim he was innocent. They even made movies about it to paint him as a poor jew framed by a black man which is fucking hilarious. The entire defense was one lone "The nigger did it everyone knows niggers are subhuman look at who evil he looks!" with almost no actual defense of Leo himself by some expensive, out of state lawyers from Hebrew money. They even claimed the victim had written about the black guy leering on her but the handwriting didn't match her other stuff, including a proven written by her thing about Leo being creepy.
The police actually looked into and arrested 2 black men, the one who found the body of the girl and the accused of doing. But the first was let go when they checked and saw he was just around the place and the second put on a actual trial and let go later.
If Leo had not been part of the Tribe you would have this case being taugh on middle school all over the USA as a huge civil rights win of the law ignoring racial prejudice to find the truth.
Oh and a final point: That jury? Also had jews on it. They voted that Leo was guilty just like the wasps did.

The point being that the American approach to getting other countries to go along with its policies seems to currently be all stick and no carrot.

There has been plenty of Carrot, market access, protection of trade lanes, and other stuff.
Like I said were not great at diplomacy but we do have some basic competence where russia has kind of forgotten that skill set. China basically threw it away with warrior wolf mentality.
