I am to the left of the very right-wing Overton window that many here want, that is true.

I also understand the Left on a level many here don't. I grew up among them, spend a lot of time agruing against them on FB trying to break that lefty bubble, and have lost many friends do to coming out for Trump.

I am willing to call out both sides, not something many are willing to do, and have lived a life that breaks both sides popular narratives.

I want to heal the divide between right and left, to unify people and work passed the issues of the past. But that cannot happen if both sides refuse to acknowledge the legit issues the other sides has.

It is tiring, unrewarding work; more and more I'm convinced that neither side wants to heal the country, they just want to destroy the other side once and for all.

Edit: To answer your other post, first define for me what qualified as 'left' and 'right' in your view.

Because I've gone over my positions on many issues, and many times, so I'm not really in the mood to have more people misrepresent my positions, AGAIN.

THat is where you seem to be caught up in. The right most of the ones I know, want to be able to live and work and befriend the left and though they may see different, because they dont want politics to ruin friendships and lives.

I know most of the right probably would prefer to live and let live, it's why I'm not longer a Dem.

But when this sort of shit happens for daring to say that someone on the Left may have a point, and for daring to point out that the Right isn't all innocent angels or motives, it shows why it took Trump taking over the GOP to get people like me onboard for voting R.

I am not surprised that her statements are being twisted by people here to say things she didn't actually say. It's just another symptom of the potency of the Lost Cause mindset and how prevassive it is among a section of the Right.

I'm not twisting anything. She said 'I have rape-colored skin.'

She is flat-out saying that that color of skin, means that someone was raped. She did not simply say 'I am of mixed race because my black ancestor was raped by a white man.' She's saying this is the skin color of rape.

This is an assertion that everyone who has that kind of intermediate-color-tone skin, has it because of rape.

She is saying that my friends are the product of rape.
