Media/Journalism Cringe Megathread - Hot off the Presses

So you remember how Democrats had to pay people to pretend they supported Kamala? Apparently they're projecting that onto Trump and are going to run with a story that his son went around Greenland and bribed homeless people and drug dealers with a free lunch so it would look like Greenland supports Trump.

Wow what a terrible person! What kind of horrible, evil person..feeds homeless people? Wait, that doesn't seem right

Ah, Krugman! The man who has literally been wrong about everything. The man who could dismiss the internet as irrelevant, urge you to invest in internet startups mere months before the DotCom bubble burst, and advised additional mortgages in early 2007. Such a wonderfully consistent fellow. Whatever he says about any given subject: just assume the direct opposite is a position very much worth considering, and you're golden.

He truly is a testament to the political left's commitment to truth.

I'm done even acknowledging they exist. They get no more of my time...even to ridicule them.
I agree. They're the lowest-hanging fruit possible and at this point should only be referenced as a comparison anytime someone tries to make hay of other pundits. They themselves are of no value and the show seems more to be a retirement plan for dried up old celebrities and leftover nepo-babies than anything else.

I always held up the News Media as our nations honored Fourth Estate but I can't accept this basic denial of reality from the Associated Press.

When your journalists are so disdainfully ignorant of basic geography...

Honestly it is ridiculous that they are inviting these irrelevant propaganda mills without an audience.
There are many influencers with 10x to 100x the audience of these nobodies, who should be invited instead.

At least they will crash soon without USAID funds

And many of those influencers have been allowed to apply for press credentials to the WH Press Room.
should honestly be the other way around.
find the influencers that have more viewers than CNN, and invite them proactively.
like
> "hey pewdiepie, this is the white house press secretary..."

sort them by viewership. with enough invitees you can see fake news rags like CNN being relegated to waiting outside while the big name influencers with an actual audience are inside asking questions.

That would be hilarious.

My only theoretical objection to this is that infleuncers would have an incentive to go for the 'shock jock' questions instead of journalistic ones (Vaush or Destiny or Joe Rogan or something are going to have a 'push' towards asking stuff designed to evoke inflammatory language or the like from the press secretary for viewers/clicks).
...
Of course, this objection has already overtaken our supposed 'journalistic' class as well, so...At least influencers would make it obvious instead of representing themselves as unbiased or neutral.

Yea. even if they did, this would be an improvement over the nonsense from CNN and the other propaganda rags.

pewdiepie might weirdly enough be better than most journalists

I don't think the Trail of Tears is something that should be used as a positive example, but I do believe throwing what Biden said back in their faces is a good move.

> Democrat president a couple of years ago: Ignores supreme court with impunity
> Repulibcan president now: get shackled by lower courts

why are republicans like that? we always say to the democrats "you are creating a bad precedent". and then we don't follow through, proving that they didn't create a bad precedent at all.
