Getting real "Freedom is Slavery, War is Peace" party doublespeak vibes from that article.

The problem with their idea is that if they don't win absolutely and crush all desent this will be used to destroy them. And even after getting absolute power they must forever sleep with one eye open.

That said when america goes into civil war my prediction is that reporters and the media will not only not be a protected class but will be delibretly targeted. First the left will kill right wing reporters and celibrate it, then they will find the monster they unleashed devouring them.

AP is adjusting their style sheet (Style Sheets are basically what "rules of English" a given work uses to determine grammar and such, as there's no agreed-on single ruleset) to be more inclusive... by eliminating she from most of the stuff that was previously called she.

Couple years old now, but this reminds me of when the Rutgers English Department decided to incorporate “critical grammar” into their curriculum in solidarity with BLM. Guess the Left has found another demographic to pander to, as far as excuses to butcher the English language go.

that is a very big ask.
Indeed. Considering that the Ukraine didn't have the best reputation before Putin's invasion, being considered a corrupt shithole, and that enough Ukrainian refugees are working hard at chipping away at the goodwill of their hosts, I wouldn't be surprised if coming spring sees the Ukraine being given the bare minimum and a "Fuck off!" to their demands of embargoing Russia.

But why???

As the article explains... it's because there aren't enough young people invested in the hobby and practice of gardening horticulture. Which means... we might need a terminology change since any interesting in horticulture is being done in spite of the term gardening, not because of it.

As the author explains:

The Guardian said:
To me, one of the key issues behind this is the many euphemisms for “gardening” that are used, particularly online. Take a look at the hashtags they use and you’ll be presented with #plantdaddy, #plantparenthood, #crazyplantlady and #urbanfarmer. The words “gardener” and “gardening” feature rarely on these accounts which, ironically, are all about gardening.

Not mentioned (yet) Hortisexual.

I just made that up. You're welcome.

And don't worry, he worked in racism as well!

The Guardian said:
As a scientist who studies our cultural relationship with plants, I would argue that what can seem like generic terms to the initiated actually come loaded with cultural baggage. In particular, those appended by the word “proper”, which suggests an incredibly narrow way in which to garden and an even narrower sense of just who is allowed to participate. Despite having worked in the horticultural industry for almost two decades as a trained botanist, even I am rarely called a “proper” gardener when I attend a horticultural event.

Sorry I meant to say 'cultural baggage.' People aren't taking in gardening as a hobby is due to cultural baggage... of the term.... "gardening."
