Yep, and he also went after kids who's already questionable immigration status meant they would be hesitant to go to authorities.

Rashard Turner, who in 2015 founded the Black Lives Matter St. Paul chapter, made a video on why he resigned from the organization.
He made the video for TakeCharge, a black led organization that rejects critical race theory and general woke culture.
I was born in Minneapolis in 1985. We called the north side home at that time, 18th and Queen. When I was two years old, my father was shot and killed. My mother wasn’t able to take care of me. So I was raised by my grandparents. They told me that if I was going to change my life for the better, education was the answer. So I worked hard in school, I got into Hamlin University and earned a college degree, first in my family. Then I went on to earn a master’s in education from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. I am living proof that no matter your start life, quality education is a pathway to success. I want the same success for our children in our communities. That’s why in 2015, I was a founder of Black Lives Matter in St. Paul. I believed the organization stood for exactly what the name implies, black lives do matter.
However, after a year on the inside, I learned they had little concern for rebuilding black families, and they cared even less about improving the quality of education for students in Minneapolis. That was made clear when they publicly denounced charter schools alongside the teachers union. I was an insider in Black Lives Matter. And I learned the ugly truth. The moratorium on charter schools does not support rebuilding the black family. But it does create barriers to a better education for black children. I resigned from Black Lives Matter after a year and a half. But I didn’t quit working to improve black lives and access to a great education.

Speaking as a black female what amazes me is we as a people keep following different people who say the same thing decade after decade. Our neighborhoods suck who's to blame... White people. Our schools suck who's to blame... white people. Children born out of wedlock...white people, drugs...white people. We are the only race that hardly even tries to lift themselves up. We're like little birds waiting for mama bird ( the government,) to vomit some leaving into our mouths.
That's what the Democrats rely on: They want this to basically keep a support base for themselves.
Of course, you can't say this in public, even if the person saying it were Black, because you'd be a racist/"Uncle Tom". sigh
It is changing around though, and the community is making progress, but its going to be painful and getting to the otherside will not be fun.
What progress? How can we make progress when anyone who mentions personal responsibility is called an Uncle Tom.
The liberals/Democrats have us so beat down we beat ourselves down now. Example my brother is a truck driver he spent yrs driving for crap companies like JB Hunt. Everyone in my family kept telling him how good he was doing how lucky he was, my brother wasnt making crap. My white husband finally convinced him to take the hazmat test. Now he's making 3 times as much. The only person that tells anyone on my side of the family that they can be more than they are is my husband...who no one likes because he is white and was a cop.
Too bad he will be dismissed as an Uncle Tom.
