Federal prosecutors have chosen to engage in double jeopardy in the past. This is precisely the sort of highly politicized case where the deep state could choose to do so again.

I raise a glass of bourbon to todays verdict... and I will continue to pray for Justice for Kyle, with a capital 'J'. I hope that he is not embittered by the evil done to him, but heartened by those who stood with him.

They could but at this point Biden has already burned a whole lot of bridges with consitutional violations with the supreme court as is. Is it worth the political capital to try that expecially if it will most likely get slapped down?

It's not about winning, its about bankrupting Rittenhouse and ensuring he either dies penniless and forgotten or is killed in prison while awaiting his appeal.

Edit- Though I think if they actually did do that there would be actual right wing violence in response.

People would lose it and in appreciable numbers.

Politically, I'll freely admit I disagree with a lot of the people on this forum. Even then, as someone who considers themselves at the very least left-leaning, this is really the only reasonable outcome. I expected it back when it first happened because it was pretty blatantly self-defense. Especially after watching recordings of everything that went down.

He shouldn't have been there to begin with, but that doesn't really change things.

Though I'm curious. Did they ever end up identifying whoever it was that fired the first shot? In the videos I watched, when Kyle was first being chased someone off camera fired a gun and that's about when he turned around and shot the first guy.

As much as I generally disagree with this forum despite viewing myself as right-wing, I do view this verdict as something to feel good about. And while I don't like feeling schadenfreude, it is pretty damn funny watching people freak out. Let's hope they only freak out online.

This case has brought people together. Has revealed the corruption of the media, and has shown how far they pushed out and pushed out to far.

We may not agree on everything, but this case, this case should show that we can agree on something together

Not to mention the whole situation with the OK Nat Guard refusing the vax mandate, and him being a clown about the 'Political boycott' of the 22 Games, and the appeals court slapping down the OSHA mandate.

Pushing this case to a Federal crime on trumped up politial charges would only make everything worse...so I guess it could happening in modern US, but hopefully won't.

Hopefully this is the first ray of a new dawn.

I have a bad feeling about this. We don't know what the Feds and Bumbling Biden might be planning. That Admin already said they would do something if the verdict didn't go the way they wanted. This may not be fully over yet.

You may well be right. We’ve won a battle today, not the war. Tomorrow Kyle may charged federally or even sued, but today is a time for celebration.

On the bright side, if the Biden justice department tries to bring up federal charges against him, it will go even further to show how evil, corrupt, and biased they are.
