The left have made it abundantly clear over the last few years that they, in general, do not give two flying shits about border security or citizenship as a concept.

They have also made it clear that they are perfectly content with underpaid wage slaves working the fields as long as their avocados stay semi-decently priced.

Does it count with the Democrat debates where they all raised their hands to include healthcare for all undocumented migrants?

It's quite galling to hear tax payers money is going to be spent on non citizens no matter the excuses.

I can understand ICE humanitarian policies to looking after illegal migrants that are caught and housed in facilities before being deported but from that debate I would be fearful about future taxes if I was an American citizen.

Unfortunately this will probably be the case, which will be a shame for a lot of conventional family operated farms that can’t afford to get and maintain the organic certification.

Personally, I’d rather the supply chain start to put an emphasis on local farms. This would shorten truck routes, saving time, gas, and money, while also helping small businesses, keeping the money in country, and help the environment by cutting down on cross country trucking and imports.

I’d also like to see emphasis put on holistic management and permaculture. Though, admittedly, the research in support of those two things is more limited.

Isn’t that the thing with economic developments? Adapt to survive and even if people lose jobs or industries become rendered obsolete, eventually things will be put into order as needed?

It’s like how I read in an article once, guys who fear AI replacing them need to go and figure out how to use all those apps to avoid being replaced and because Employees and Automation working together can make more than the other alone....this requires actually being educated and competent though

There’s a reason Learn to Code became a meme.

By the same token though, not everyone is made for this new world we’re entering into. Not everyone can be a software engineer after all, and the older people may not be able to adapt as well as some of the younger men and women out there.

So I’m somewhat sympathetic to those that are soon to be out of work because of the coming changes to the economy.

I feel like we’re getting off topic again though.

Odds are the Champagne Socialists will be okay with the taxes and praise them, up until it really wrecks them....then they move into other states with lesser taxes or move to the Bahamas

The states with lesser taxes will increase their taxation level as they will try bringing over a wave of crazy hipsters to mess things up
