Hamas Launches Offensive Against Southern Israel

Shit is going down in the northern part of Israel as well, looks like Hezbollah and Hamas sympathizers are blocking the streets.

Also hearing US weapons left in A-stan have been found among the Hamas fighters.

Remember when I told you this was going to happen in 2021?

Within Israel itself, we've also seen widespread ethnic violence between the Arabs and Jews, on a scale not seen since at least the 1970s, if not 1948. Abbas has been severely weakened politically in the West Bank, and now Assad as well as Iran are making overtures for a joint Sunni-Shia Axis against Israel. In short, it's a death of a thousand cuts. Yes, superior IDF firepower has been sufficient to engender casualty ratios favorable to the Israelis but that does nothing to alter the growing political and geo-strategic balance at play anymore than it has for the U.S. in Afghanistan.

people on the internet point out that at least some of the taken out Merkavas were not even combat ready, with barrel covers and Trophy covers on.

And? That's still the most advanced tank in the Israeli stock worth millions of dollars getting taken out by insurgents using old Soviet ATGMs or hand grenades.

As i said, there is no tank in the past, present, or even foreseeable future that will be immune to that when not combat-ready.
In light of this, making this statement while ignoring this context is a textbook example of either propaganda... or trolling.

Can you please explain why these tanks were destroyed by old Soviet gear then, while obviously being combat ready?

If it's not combat ready why is the turret engaged and the vehicle moving?
It's not moving and moving the turret at the same time. It's a well established practice that Israel leaves tanks posted in position with partial, or even no crew in peacetime since years.
So, we know there is at least one crew member inside. But that would not exactly make it combat ready.
No need for this, if you watch to the end the tank fireballs from ammo or the engine cooking off.
So any tank is combat ready as long as it is supplied? No need for complete crew, start-up procedures or anything? Wow, i didn't know Israel has AI tank technology. Always ready, always vigilant, crew optional.

There's tank tracks right behind it and the turret is moving at the start of the video. At the end, the video zooms out to show it's nowhere near base.

Point being that regardless of whatever cope you claim, it's clear the Palestinians smoked a multi million dollar tank with a hand grenade. What do you think will happen to Merkavas if they go into urban combat in Gaza where millions of grenades are?

So the tank was also driving... sometime in the previous few hours to days. Point being?
Again, Israel was in fact in the news for posting tanks in sentry positions for a long time, even with crews coming and going, as the linked story demonstrates.

They will be more combat ready and have CUAS cover provided, that's for sure.

Israel parks tanks on busy roadways?

How exactly did that work out for the crew of this Merkava?

My money is that Israel is getting closer to its fuck it moment.

That moment where a country gets so fed up with bullshit that all of the rules go out the window. The obvious way to finally end the conflict is a mass expulsion of Palastinians just destroy any and all housing they have and forcibly kick them out of the country. Brutal yes but it would stop the issue once and for all and in the long term would be the kinder option for everyone involved because the two peoples can not coexist.

It would simply inflame the situation further:

Even if offered favourable terms, Palestine will never accept peace. They will settle for nothing less than Israel’s total destruction, so what option is there but brute, unyielding force to make them stop?

They’ve been given chance after chance, but the ram has touched the wall now.

No mercy.
I expect Gaza is done as an independent entity, and will be fully absorbed into Israel once Hamas is dealt with.

Israel telling civies to get out mean they will consider anyone staying in Gaza to be a Hamas member or supporter, and Israel is talking about rendering Hamas extinct after this, so do the math.

Cool it with the genocide advocacy, bro, you're not hard. IDF does take foreign recruits, however, so put your money where your mouth is.

Because killing two million people is going to be an effective long term strategy and definitely not completely turn the region against Israel:

This is clearly a parking spot for the vehicles, you can even see civilian cars in the spots next, so yeah, they got caught with their pants down, shame on them, but it can't be indicative of proper combat performance.
How exactly did that work out for the crew of this Merkava?

Dunno how this one got caught, but wouldn't be surprised if surprise was also involved.
