If we end up fighting a war against the CCP (because let's face it; they're the ones with the army, not China), there's really only two things that could keep us from winning; interference from the political establishment on behalf of corporate interests, and nukes.
Corporations still see the Chinese market as a veritable untapped gold mine of potential profit (even though that makes no sense when you think about it, as their intellectual property always ends up stolen by Chinese companies who inevitably, with the help of the CCP, displace them from the Chinese market over time); they're not going to want the US military screwing that up for them. As for the nukes, well; there's a reason we never went to war with the Soviet Union, and that reason is Mutually Assured Destruction.

Not as much as you might think; the CCP essentially bribes the Chinese people into being loyal with economic prosperity. Once they can no longer deliver on that promise, people will start to get rather upset with them, to put it mildly. Also, while their authoritarianism means they can respond faster in a crisis than we can, the rampant corruption ingrained into their system of governance ensures that they will never respond competently.

Do they really have a choice? I mean, I get that you guys are supposed to have rules that protect you when you disobey orders that should be disobeyed; but we were also supposed to have rules that protect our electoral process, and look how well that turned out. The system is dying, if it's not dead already, and I expect the military are going to have to make a choice fairly soon.
Unfortunately, they have infiltrated and subverted huge swaths of America; from politics, to business, the media, and even academia; they're all willing and able to bend over backwards to support China's agendas, even as they try to maintain at least the appearance of opposing them.

You I somewhat trust more, because you actually gave some more information. So weak on offense, but strong in a defensive war? So basically just like the Soviet Union in the 30's and 40's? They got absolutely humiliated in Finland, but when Hitler attacked their deeper into Russia he got buried by hordes. I'm also guessing that Chinese hordes would be much larger since they have the largest population. So if a war kicked off tomorrow they would probably not be able to make a succesful landing at Taiwan. But if America tries to push into mainland China, do you think they will just fold and be easy?
Also what makes you think they are weak and forever will be, and America will be strong and forever will be?
