Is there an article or something to go along with this? Typically when "online pedo hunting" there's a chain of documentation and communication and verification in order to fulfill the whole "due process" part of the legal system before you begin assaulting potential dirtbags with weapons, pumpkins or otherwise.
And you know, getting law enforcement involved before making in person confrontations in public places with bystanders around.
Like think about this. When you see that show "To Catch a Predator" it occurs at a private home surrounded by law enforcement. That's because, in case the mentally and morally depraved Predator is a dangerous individual, the threat is sequestered.
There's this brain bug that meeting someone in a public place makes you "safe" and that's generally true... if all people involved are rational beings.
What if your online predator you just grabbed is morally bankrupt, depraved or just desperate? Which seems likely being a fucking pedo predator (allegedly). And what if said Predator has a weapon, like say... a GUN and decides to use it. Sure maybe you have guns which means the best scenario is you just started a shootout in the front of a populated grocery store. Great job catching those pedos 'tards!
And again we're hoping that it is an actual pedo... with a chain of evidence that can prove it in court...
Pedo Hunting is a legitimate pursuit, but if your going to be retarded about it, probably shouldn't bother.
With that said, I'm glad they are at least videotaping this part of the vigilantism. Hopefully they did their due diligence with everything leading up to it.
