It has a strong film noir atmosphere.

Like a 1920s - 1940s detective pulp novel/comic with mecha.

Alfred Hitchcock eith mecha, even.

I generally dislike the mech genre but this series was the exception to that. The Megadeus's being lumbering mountains makes them way cooler than the typical ninja mechs most other animes like Gundam has.

Well made anime in 1950 aesthetic.They really must watch old american movies to get it.


The Big-O had a really convoluted plot and to this day I still have no idea wtf the ending was suppose to be. Some guy rambled about tomatoes a lot.
