When it comes to infrastructure investments in Asia. Japan has triple the amount of money in Asian countries than the amount from the CCP Belt and Road debt trap. There's a reason the only countries in Asia who are trapped by the CCP B&R are dictatorships like Burma and tiny desperate countries like the Solomon Islands.

I'm less worried about the Belt and Road than the CCP police offices/officers in the US and their troops doing joint training with Canada's forces.

Add in the beef between India and Canada now over that dead Sikh leader, and the closeness to the CCP...WW3 might be US versus a CCP controlled/occupied Canada, if things go stupid.

Edit: Or this would be the case, if the CCP didn't have just as many hooks into DC as Ottowa.

Canada wouldn't attack the US. They might stay neutral if there was a war though.

To play the devil’s advocate for a second…

So a lot like how certain Western powers see themselves then? Like your own view about how China should revolve around the US-led power structure?

(Or how a certain user of this site wants to see his Eastern European nation- whose name starts with ‘P’ and ends with ‘d’- in relation to Europe? :p)
The difference is that at one point, China was one of the most civilized and advanced civilizations in the ancient world. Ancient and was being the key words.

They no longer hold that title, nor are they even close to grasping it again in the modern day. They still believe deep down that non-Chinese (especially non-Han) are uncivilized barbarians when the opposite is now pretty much true, especially with how culture and life have, eh, "evolved" under the CCP.

This cultural arrogance, that riding high on old coat tails, taints them to this day.

China benefits from the US led world trade structure. They prospered amazingly from it, and in trying to destroy it, they're only hurting themselves.

The US is the first World Hegemon to decide 'hey, free (more or less) trade for everyone sounds like something we want to enforce on our own dime.' Nobody else did something so beneficial to the rest of the world.

If the Chinese leaders had some actual wisdom, they would have happily profited from this order for as long as it lasted, and used the strength they built to be in a good position to dominate whatever came after when it inevitably ended, because no world hegemon lasts forever.

Hell, with the sheer amount of manufacturing that had been offshored to them by the USA and Europe, they were well-positioned to become the world's next economic hegemon (which usually later leads to overall hegemon), but they kept sabotaging every economic and diplomatic relationship they had.

But the CCP, like all communists, just could not stop shooting themselves in the foot.

China wants to be a Colonial empire like the British and dutch were. Only that age is over with.
Not in the Chinese world view. They are even using the same tactics and wording the Americans used in the Monroe Doctrine. Calling it China's Manifest Destiny to rule over and, for our own good of course, to " Civilize the savages." Savages being anyone not Han or those not Han enough.

The “Celestial Empire” has always held itself as superior to any of the barbarians beyond the Emperor’s rule.

Unfortunately those barbarians showed up with ironclad battleships to give China a century of humiliation. And what can be more humiliating than for the British Empire to make you its crack whore?

Ah, the Opium Wars. Good times.

It is time for the CCP to Lose Face on the World Stage. Kick the off the UN Security Council. Cut them off from International Banking. Sink all of their Global Fishing Fleet and expel CCP party members living in Western Countries. Make it very obvious we are sick of their shit. And are done being nice.

Not without purging their influence from the political establishment whose joined with China at the hip.

Imagine how bad you have to be at diplomacy to get America, Britian, Germany, Russia, Japan, spain, and Italy all to join up to kick your ass.
They were openly abducting Chinese who had left the Empire and had become citizens of European nations who publicly spoke critically of the Qing Empire. Were intimidating Europeans who sheltered dissidents and other shenanigans. It was ignored until it started touching the upper classes of European social strata. Then the various territorial claims that the Europeans wanted for themselves. War was inevitable. Especially with a weak puppet on the Dragon Throne and an Imperial administration that refused to see China was now too technologically behind and administratively mired to function in a modern world to act like a Superpower.

They were in bed with the boxers.
The same boxers who were using Imperial troops to kill missionaries.
Women and children not just the men.
There have been horrible stories from what they were doing
The Boxers tried to enact their own purification of China in the same manner as the Tokugawa Shogunate after the Sengoku Jidai.

The Dowager Empress was using the Boxers as her cats' paws. I'm still unsure of that turn of phrase. She used them as proxies in her attempt to get rid of the foreign powers in China.

That is true, they were wanting to kick any outside influence out if the nation
You say that as if DC politicians give a damn about US citizens beyond paying lip service to our voting system and/or when something goes so horribly wrong they throw one of their own under the bus to maintain the illusion.
Oh, the US populace does though
