You can say that when the US does more than just annoys China; because in the grand scheme of things, donating vaccines (which may or may not work as advertised) doesn't really change much.
We sold them multiple mew arms and have are currently working on an order of Abrams for them

Eh, on this I disagree; the Bush family has been part of the establishment GOP for 3 generations at least.
I meant the CCP getting influence in the GOP, not the Bush's.

You underestimate the difficulty of invading across the sea.

You also probably overestimate the morale and willingness to die of Chinese conscripts.

There is a modest but very real possibility that Taiwan could fight of China by itself. I would not put money on it, but it's possible. In the long run, if China can effectively blockade Taiwan, they'd eventually win, but supplying your own military across the sea and maintaining a blockade isn't easy either.

If Vietnam joins in, the Chinese are in deep shit. If Japan or the Philippines do as well, their odds of winning are lousy. You could also potentially see Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand throwing in, not to mention India.

If the US joins in, China is guaranteed to lose (not least because if we jump in every other nation in SE Asia is likely to), but victory is by no means certain for them if we don't.

The big question with Taiwan is how close they are to being conquerable by a helicopter landinging near their capital to inform them of them of being conquered. As far as I can tell, the current support for unification with mainland China under current conditions is about 10-15%, which is a significant 5th column in any conflict. Communist subversion its my understanding has suceeded with smaller levels of support. More importantly probably is the morale of pro independent people. If unification gets seen as inevitable, conquest can be achieved with very little initial violence.

That is something that's hard to tell with any real certainty, and can change rapidly. But, I don't see anything really happening against Taiwan until its independent spirit is broken. Something communists are very good at. If you think Chinese subversion is bad and aggressive in the US, imagine how much is thrown against Taiwan! This is another thing where I'm not sure you can really get good information on. Some suggest the Taiwanese government and military are filled with thousands of spies, infiltrators, and other agents of mainland China, others suggest Taiwan has been fairly sucessful in keeping them out.

Its hard to tell either way.

Sadly this isn't like the Holy League or the Last Alliance of Elves and Men or something. Apparently its intended to increase G7 efforts when it comes to investment in the developing world to counter China and their efforts in that field. But you know, baby steps.

The flights keep getting bigger and bigger. Largest incursion into Taiwanese ADIZ yet with 28 aircraft taking part in the incursion including 14 J-16 and six J-11 fighters, as well as four H-6 bombers.
