Apparently it's got better accuracy, and is definitely more ambidextrous.
Honestly, the main point of sale I can see--being something of a total ignoramus on bullpups--is how well it'd fit as a Halo cosplay-piece for the funsies of it. It's got that big, battle-rifle energy.VHS is back, baby! $2000 right now, but it should get down to ~$1500 by this time next year.
An AR-15 with a horizontal magwell is something I've wanted for ages. Hell, make it a manly AR-10 with a straight mag. I'll never be able to afford an FG-42, probably not even the semiauto reproductions, but I could afford something like that. And it would be an awesome range toy, just built for plunking down on a table and putting rounds downrange.Honestly, the main point of sale I can see--being something of a total ignoramus on bullpups--is how well it'd fit as a Halo cosplay-piece for the funsies of it. Admittedly, since I haven't followed development of it basically at all, upon first being referenced to it by you I did have a brief moment of wondering if they went full send on weirdness and said 'Wait...is the magwell on the side?' before recognizing it as the bolt.
But ever since then I haven't been able to escape that lingering, dark voice in the back of my head whispering about how silly-stupid-neat it'd be if that was actually the case.
So how does the Hellion match up to the Tavor?
i saw it at a gun store once. it was intriguing but it's too gimmicky for the price. So has anybody seen this Credit Card gun before?

Lifecard Gun is one of the most discreet, foldable firearms you will find in the industry. When folded it is the size of a credit card.www.lifecardguns.com
I'm seeing nothing but good reviews for it on YouTube, which leads me to conclude they're chock full of schills because there's no way this could possibly be useful for self defense. By the time you've had time to get out your wallet, unfold this thing from it's credit card form, try to aim it, and finally fire its single bullet your would-be mugger has already emptied his clip into you and is six blocks away from your cooling corpse.
Nifty looking though, I have to admit. It's like a Transformer casseticon that also turns into a gun or something. But I'm finding it difficult to imagine as anything but pure gimmick.

How futuristic are we talking about?
Now that I'm paying attention...
1. I'd like to see caseless ammo that works in all environments, even the wet ones.
2. You may also see a new propellant available. Might achieve higher chamber pressures for increased muzzle velocity. Downside is that you'll probably need better materials for chamber and barrel to hand the increased pressure and heat. Advanced composites maybe.
3. Inherent imaging systems that enable point and shoot for the handler. Low light and/or thermal capability.
4. Downside is that a lighter weapon with greater boom means more kick and abuse of the shooter. So there's going to need to be an increase in recoil dampening as well.
If you can do that kind of material advancement, you'll likely also see an improvement in protective materials as well. Maybe even a truly flexible/breathable ballistic material that is form fitting, and doesn't require metal plate reinforcement. IF you're really high speed you build a material that also disperses the kinetic energy across a much larger surface area vs impact area. That will help prevent broken bones and explosive trauma.
Basically, five minutes into the future, the main thing you're going to see is people slapping on these kinds of absurd bullshit optics that cost as much or more than a rifle:
But it's basically going to do all the hard parts of calculating the shots for you, so you can hit further.
