Remember that time when the US military was obsessed with everything looking like "Starship Troopers" and "Futuristic"? It gave us this piece of shit, Basically a G36 covered in useless plastic.

Is that a C-mag on the automatic rifle variant?

Yes it is, I believe that was suppose to be a saw variant

EDIT: And how could I forget this abomination?

The XM29

A 20mm grenade launcher with a rifle attachment.

Which is a war crime since the 1800’s. As anything that small is classified as an ‘exploding bullet’.

A twenty millimeter grenade is pretty different from a dum-dum round anyways.

The grenade launcher that came out of that was amaze-balls.
Before it was also gotten rid of because it’s a war crime.

That is a stupid agreement that we should just ignore.
You realize that just means other people will stop following it, right? Because ones the exploding bullet genie is out of the box, modern body armor is going to be useless once people find a cheap way to start making 40k-lite bolt-rounds.

The exploding bullet genie?

As opposed to tumbling rounds? Hollow point rounds? Automatic grenade launchers? A 20mm grenade round is somehow dramatically more unethical than a 30mm grenade round?

I'm pretty sure that similar uhhh sized grenade launchers are already a thing.

Apparently not. It’s not the size of the launcher it’s the size of the rounds they fire that seems to be the problem according to the treaty and so on.

The treaty has a stupid provision. But the treaty as a whole is relatively useful, as it gets rid of chemical warfare (I might have the wrong Geneva convention, actually), which literally no one wants to see again. So you keep it.

Also, it helps the US more than it hurts us, the same way regulations hurt small countries more than large countries.

and we decided to play by their rules to avoid complications.
No, we really don't. The big things that actually matter? Landmines and cluster munitions? We still gottem and use em, and never signed on to the treaty. And we basically ignore the parts of international law that get in the way (like assassinations are banned, so we did 'targeted killings').
