Boomstick's and shooty shooty bang bang's - The GUN Thread!

Does anyone here remember "Metalstorm?" It was a sort of machine gun system that made the one Burt Gummer used in "Tremors 3" look like old flintlocks.

The MetalStorm concept got a lot of PR among fanboys because of its superficial impressiveness, but its innate flaws and shortcomings were painfully obvious to anyone who took a serious look. The company went into voluntary bankruptcy in 2012 after the hype died off, and its remains were acquired by another company in 2015. In 2018 they announced a plan to use Metal Storm technology to make lightweight multi-shot weapons for small unmanned drones, but nothing has been seen of it beyond the original press release.

Metal Storm would've been better off using their tech to make viable caseless weapons that load out of conventional mags.
The stacked-ignition concept for Metal Storm is pretty much inherently incompatible with conventional mags. It's also not nearly as innovative as Metal Storm was hyping itself to be, as it's been used for centuries in fireworks mortars.

Eh, the only thing I can think Metalstorm would be useful for would be for it to be a better explanation of Nod's shredder turret system in C&C3: Tiberium Wars than just "lol giant shotguns".

In reality? The technology is completely impractical.

The concept of using Metal Storm tubes as armament for lightweight drones might be workable, because the one virtue they do have is that they're very light and compact compared to a "proper" firearm.

The problem is they will have very bad accuracy...unless metal storm is combined with gyrojet technology maybe.

Remember I saw the thing years ago and only know that it fired many shots per second. Even if it wasn't very accurate so much shooting would seem to help compensate for that, and such a weapon would likely be used against large crowds, especially as a weapon of terror.

So how about those guns?

Here... I typed the word "Guns" into the Rumble search box and got this.

Looks great.

Have a watch.

Warning: It's over seventy seconds long.

5300 Euros for a used Yugoslavian AK variant?

I don't want to get political but seems overpriced. Based solely off of anecdotal evidence and bullshit I think you could get a just as illegal Kalashnikov variant in the United States for like a tenth the price and with the stock intact.

European Black Market inflation is out of control.

I am not an expert @Husky_Khan but the inflated price is likely to the fact that sneaking a weapon like that in France is somewhat difficult (though the recent protests kinda disprove my point) not to mention the economy of the Eurozone is shit. 5300 seem to be for transportation, handling and to have profit.

Not even to have a margin of profit. Having profit and that's it.

Most arms in Europe are probably being funneled to Ukraine, so there's going to be an extra price premium on them in general. Sneaking one into France is just going to add extra costs to it.

One one hand, semi-auto rifles in 5,56, 5,45 and 7,62 went up in price as did the ammo. On the other hand, black market is flooded with all kinds of weapons coming from Ukraine, including MANPADs and ATGMs.

Uh what.
It isn't from Ukraine unless Russians selling captured stuff

I trust you have evidence or links to said evidence to back this claim, other than anecdotal?

:ROFLMAO:

And you even claim to be in intelligence :ROFLMAO:

You guys can laugh and mock on an internet forum, but last I checked Zach's the only one here I know of who's part of the intel community, or has openly admitted to anyway.

Again, cite your evidence.
