The crowd that crowed about how unprofessional the mean tweets from the last guy were is in critical condition today because of it.
Or, at least, they would be, if they had a thimble of honesty in their objections. Which they don't.
Personally, I think it's a little funny and probly a little true (journalists, especially hostile ones, are not known for their respectability). I spent too long and too often during the Trump years sighing dejectedly and rolling my eyes at a politician acting true to their asshole-self and saying/writing insults. The stuff's been with us since the birth of the Republic, it's nothing new. Would it be preferable if elected officials had the modicum of self-control children are expected to hold? Yes. But at this point the hypocritical condemnation of it is more threatening than the presence of rudeness.
