The media is truly losing their minds, they're calling Manchin's "no" vote "The end of democracy."

Heh.

Heheheheheh...

Hahahahaaha...

BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAH!!!! :giggle::LOL::ROFLMAO:😂
What a bunch of drama queens.

...either that or they’re going for a ‘boy who cried wolf’ approach for when the Deep state/mega corporations do their own bullshit, but I’m skeptical. Because they seem more opportunist then Machiavellian schemers so far.

He seems to be part of the legacy of the long-running lie that the left is pro-blue collar.
It bears mention that used to be, at least in some ways, true--insofar as 'pro-blue collar' translated to 'pro-union', and West Virginia certainly has a historical attachment to pro-union sentiment (pro-Union as well, but that's a different matter :p ) and, to my understanding, coal mining was/is a heavily unionized industry. So Manchin's hung on because of that earlier transitive association of blue collar -> union work that Democrats/left operated off of...And probably no little amount of sheer political inertia and campaign finance dominance since the dude has been a fixture in WV politics for two decades now.

Of course, whether he remains by the next Senate election cycle he's up for is questionable since national-level Democrats and left-wingers have been flouting whatever section of unionized industry (and blue collar work more generally) that is objectionable to them (coal mining, pipefitting, trucking, etc.) in the name of green causes or leftist economic abandonment--and have been since Clinton and NAFTA. And union workers/bosses in those and other industries, teachers excepted, are starting to notice.

It seems the White House “retaliated” against Joe Manchin, but in what way isn’t clear yet, probably released something to attempt to embarrass him.

Manchin is pissed. Sounds like the honeymoon is over.

It actually did used to be a blue collar thing this happened during the last realinment during the FDR era, where the democrats created an alliance between various labor unions ect. This paradime lasted until the 1960s when you got the new left and the union members needs took a back seat to civil rights activists for the next 60 fucking years.

Now were in the mysts of a new political realiment.

Lets face facts George Dubya bush destroyed the republican party, and they didn't spend their time in the wilderness rebuilding their foundations at all leaving the party wide opened to be changed by who ever came along. That person was trump and he brougth the populists out of an 80 year long cold and they are in the process of taking over the republican party.

The old guys are currently being kicked out quite a few kicking and screaming but their fuck up was of such a scale that no one gives a shit.

Biden has responded to this by centralizing the establishment into the democratic party, which has set up neo optimates vrs the new Populist movement.

The democrats don't represent the poor any more, or the working class their the party of the rich and thats finally starting to sink in.

He knew they would beforehand. They had to have been hanging this over his head as a threat to get him in line. And he decided "fuck you. Go ahead and do it," and held out anyways.

His credibility on the left is utterly shot. But he does have the image now of being willing to play hard ball.

I don't think he was ever going to agree to this Build Back Better bullshit.

Mind you, this is not out of principle. Manchin has a lot of donor and oil money on the line. It's not in his interests to vote for the green socialist bullshit. He's not a moderate out of principle, if he had more money to make on green nonsense, he would be voting for that instead.

So don't take this as me praising Manchin. He's just as much a slimey weasel as the rest of them. It just happens that this time his personal interest also aligns with the greater economy and country's interests. Next time it may not. Don't count on Manchin to be the moderate voice of reason.

Possibly related?

Biden cancels Trump $35.00 monthly insulin price cap, then blames Manchin for $1,000 monthly insulin.

That's how they are retaliating, with obvious and easy to fact-check lies?

Manchin may only be helping us in this for oil and coal money, though he also seems to be against the vax mandates too, so 'll treat him as at least a saner slimy weasel than most of DC.

Might be. I’m not sure if this is all of it or not.

Do not irritate pipefitters or truckers. The latter keep store shelves stocked. The former? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have gas, electricity, heat, A/C, and whole lot of other modern conveniences without them.

"Of course we only win if we stay united! United over...something....or other....something. Well off I go then, sleepy time!"
Busted out laughing when I read this during my lunch break.
