Shockingly, it seems Biden picking a VP using race and gender as the only criteria was actually a bad idea, who knew?

I think it was the Washington Post that just published a hit piece about that trucker that won an election in NJ, complaining that the guy had said Harris was only VP because of her race and gender. There was a lot of outrage from the post and not a bit of awareness that Biden himself more or less said that's why he picked her.

Arch Dornan

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
Politico had a similar piece in late June, and NR was talking about it and some other problems (including the infamous NASA video where they had to bring in child actors and screenwriters).

She’s bad at dealing with people, and bad at being a manager. She can’t think on her feet, and remember that her own presidential campaign cratered. She was brought in to please the woke brigades, and like all of Biden’s other efforts to do so, it’s backfired spectacularly.
So bad even CNN admits it.

So while everybody has been looking at the Rittenhouse and Arbury trials, and people have been wondering about Kamala/Biden, the Russians have just made the ISS's orbit unsafe for what may be years, and created new problems for manned space-flight, with an ASAT weapons test.

The White House hasn't said shit about this happening, because Biden is too busy prepping to suck Xi's cock in a teleconference.

Russia just told the world "we can wreck your satellite network."

Fuck.

I'm going by what is actually being reported as happening on the ISS and what is being release by Space Command and NASA.

I haven't seen anyone asking Biden about this publicly today, nor do much of the media seem to be following the story, so it seems very much the White House wants to act like this hasn't happened for as long as they can, particualry given the meeting with Xi coming up.

The debris count is also up to 1500 pieces now, for this one event, and the ISS crew is having to shut every hatch and stay in the escape vehicles due to fear of debris hitting the station.

All while the White House and US media seem to be rather reluctant to speak about this, despite how important/impactful this incident could be.

Going to be fun to see him try and get that through Congress in what will soon be an election year.

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s something Congress actually has to authorize -it’s a lawsuit and the settlement is something DOJ I think just pays out of whatever fund it has for such. If I’m wrong, please correct me as I’d be happy to be wrong.

As for impeachment…this is one of those “really idiotic decisions that isn’t necessarily a criminal act.” It’s a disgrace and Biden should be voted out of office for this.

But impeachment? Even if you could get Pelosi and the crew to go along with it (or whoever ends up winning after 2022), you’d still need a supermajority of senators to go along with it. Which, let’s be honest, is not going to happen. Enough Democrats will run cover for him on that.

A resolution censuring him for such idiocy, however, only requires a simple majority in both houses. So that, at least, is an option, as is cutting off funding for some of his other pet projects in the future.

Official NASA statement:

Edit:

Yep, and they also endangered the ISS's continued operations.

I think this is Russia (once again) Fucking Around and Finding Out. This is the same bunch that tried doing the Tsar Bomba test as a giant flex and the diplomatic fallout (pun not intended) meant it blew up spectacularly (again, not intended) in their faces.

Can't we get him under the 25th amendment?

Even if Harris wanted to (and I’m not sure she does, given how her senior staff are all Biden’s people and not hers), you need a majority of the Cabinet to go along with that as well, which isn’t happening.

More importantly, what makes you think things wouldn’t get worse with Harris calling the shots?

Looks like the ISS hatches have been opened back up, per latest press release.

The debris and it's trajectory is still evolving, but they think the immediate danger has passed.

The hatches weren't constantly closed? That seems like a massive safety hazard. One piece of debris prior to and the whole station could decompress.

No, and for the same reason they aren't usually kept closed on a ship. It's a giant pain in the ass to constantly open and close hatches, so they only set them all to close if there's a reason (like a storm or being at general quarters).

Something colliding with the ISS is extremely remote, and they'd normally have plenty of warning and see it coming. Space is absolutely vast.

Ships underway keep their hatches closed all the time. At the very least to keep the air as dry as possible for both crew environment and equipment. Add in damage control efforts and preventative measures against fire, and the only hatches you don't see closed all the time are the ones between decks. But on the same deck, they keep them closed when not in use.
