For me, I think 2030 is about the earliest possible time, not the latest, that China's problems might go from "serious" to "actually threatening the stability of the government" (in the US sense not European sense, although in China's case, well, nevermind), and I'm not nearly as confident that their problems will prove unsolvable.

In 1920 it hit 23.7% (the highest on record) and it was 13.5% in 1980 when Carter was President.
We just don't remember those periods because of how long ago they were.
Well, the government is admitting that it's up to 5% by their math...which just means that real inflation is probably around 6.5 or 7% at least.
