PC Gaming Baldurs Gate 3

So aside from the Gith is there anything else to do at the Rosymorn monastery? I already wiped out the Gith after telling their bitch queen to get fucked. But does the superweapon atop the monastery do anything?

The Original Neverwinter Nights (2005) is 4.6 gigs for the Diamond Edition and Divinity Original Sin (2014), the Classic Version on Steam requires 10 gigs apparently. Amazing what search engines can do.

Okay, then, how much on the server side and how much on the player's side? I'm assuming "Baldur's Gate 3" is an online game and therefore there is a server part.

What do youmean by online?

This conversation is so scintillating.

Can we go back to talking about how bangable Gith are or whatever? :p

Have you seen some of that Goblin fanart?

It is degenerate and leads more stoic salt of the Earth Toril Grumbar Earth peasants into temptation.

A key to a better BG3 experience is to stake Astarion when he tries to feed and push Lae'Zel off the ship at the start of the game. Bonus points if you are Dark Urge because then you can tear off Gale's arm.

I finally had time to look into it and the answer seems to be yes and no about the online part.

It has a multiplayer option so yes it is in that case online- but there is no huge world stored in a massive server somewhere out there. There is a sort of "host" computer where the user can invite others to play, and from their locations they can. That is what confused me, generally such games these days seem to be played in a world stored on a server.

But it would seem as though the game is dependent on the host's computer. In a "server-based" game if you blow up Lord Nastynaughty's Castle of General Nastiness then ANYONE coming across the site is going to find ruins. But in this case this is only true if playing on the host's computer- if its hard drive goes to pot like mine did (my time is limited because I am on a public computer generally, although RAM-based Puppy Linux has gotten that laptop running) then the game is lost along with any progress. Is it possible to back up a game to account for this, say on Steam?

On the other hand one can just play alone offline like the games of decades of old.

Can any updates to the game foul up a game in progress? I've never played any multi-player online game so some of this is new to me.

Is it possible any longer to NOT have updates from Steam? can you switch them off?

Yes you have to go to the properties menu of the game by right clicking on the title in your steam library list.

Total War Warhammer ALWAYS be breaking if your playing with mods with every update and sometimes even without them.

Is there a general on/off switch for this sort of thing or only if a specific game allows that?

It's been a while since I had the Steam app installed, and when I do it will be for Linux.

Not to my knowledge.
