Are they invincible flagged? Or is it just you can't get them to turn hostile? Because I'm pretty sure a fire arrow at a few well-placed barrels can solve that problem otherwise.

If this video hasn't already been posted here, check it out. Maybe this solution will work for you too. If nothing else, a modder might solve the issue eventually, though Nexus Mods will probably go all gay cuck on it too, so check here instead. The 'alternate body types naming' mod is finally up there now.

Go on Youtube and search for fastest BG3 playthrough with Gale. Spoilerise I do not.
Jumping - fastest mode of getting around is by casting Enhance Leap (lasts "only" 10 turns but - as a Ritual Spell - is cast without using a Spell Slot) and jumping instead of running. Even STR8 Gale becomes a Bouncing Bunny
BTW - to overcome low STR character's tendency to "get lost" by not jumping with the rest of the Party, I always equip them with the Jump enhancing boots from the Goblin trader. The "Athlete" Feat which boosts jumping distance by half is excellent too!
