Armchair General's DonbAss Derailed Discussion Thread (Topics Include History, Traps, and the Ongoing Slavic Civil War plus much much more)

This is a bad sign, fortunately only for Russia.

For Ukraine, it's a good sign because it means the Russians are forced to use conscripts as tank commanders. That is, the professional and veteran soldiers are either largely over that they have to load whoever they can into tanks, or those who are still alive have to deal with training the other mobilized ones that's why they were pulled out of the vehicles. Whatever the reason, this means that the more effective vehicles will be lost at a faster rate.
Harsh and brutal, but true.

Jesus Christ, he was a cement loader?

Putin you pathetic, fucking, cunt, stop feeding your people into a meat grinder. This man should never have been taken away from his home.
Good morning, this is the so-called universal mobilization. The standard for armies based on mobilization development. Although professional armies also use it in difficult situations.

If there was an emergency in the UK to increase the size of the British Army, and there is no time to collect volunteers, the same thing would be done.

The Ukrainians are also mobilizing the same people as Russia. In contrast, Putin is a tsar and they have never cared about the fate of the Muscovites.

You do realize that they took random people from the countryside for 25 years of compulsory service until the Crimean War? Ba, they didn't even have barracks!

Barracks and other "western" facilities were introduced only after the Crimean War as part of the reforms, I can't remember the name of the general who introduced it but he was a Baltic German, and on the basis of these reforms the Russian Army and the Red/Soviet Army resisted until just the Serdyukov/Shoig reforms.

They were orda, and since when orda need barracks?

25 years service was quite common up to mid XIXth century. Wellington threw a hissy fit and was very, very cross when Queen Victoria backed the shortening of service to 12 years (from life!). To this day in British English the term "lifer" is used to denote making the military one's career choice.

True that the Russian army did not have barracks up to 1870 or so and wastage due to disease (brought about by bad living conditions) was beyond belief - very few conscripts lived to see their discharge into retirement.

American goes to war alongside Azov, sees what real wars are:

What real war?
did USA send their units? no? so they do not go to war, only send obsolate stuff, and after counting it as if it was new, says how much help they send.

If USA send one of their heavy dyvisions, they would be storming Moscov now.

But,they would never do that.Becouse entire war is kind of haggling with Moscov to made alliance with them.
When putin friends kill him,it would happen - and then kgbstan would get Ukraine, balts,Poland and everything they want.

So,long live comrade putin.Unless till last soviet soldier die in last soviet tank on Ukraine.

McAirDefense intensifies. Please actually do this. I want to own a SAM launcher.

As you are entitled to under your gloriously batshit insane constitution. Your founding fathers believed private citizens could even own warships, so if a man believes an Iowa class battleship is essential to home defence, it would be un-American to deny him!

Turns out the Pro-NATO Globalists on the Internet have been spreading lies once again.

They exaggerated the Russian claims of M777 Howitzer losses in the Ukraine Special Military Operation.

They are neosoviets, and follow soviet example.
In 1939 soviet fighters were suppose to schoot down 30 japaneese Ki 27 fighters during first day of Chałchyn-gol battle - when Japan had 16 there, among them 5 was lost. Some from AA,not fighters.

An Iowa for hone defenses is truly American
Hell yeah it is! At a rough operating cost of $100 million a year, what could be more american than a "freedom" that inordinately favours the rich, gives them even more power and has far too good a chance of leading to pointless death?

Because 16 inch shells into any area of land is a lot of damage. You are acting like all the rich are evil.
Some just live thier lives

..? I don't understand what your "because" bit is in response to, and I disagree that I'm in any way maligning the moral character of the rich. I'm just saying it's very american to inordinately benefit them.

How does it inordinately benefit the rich?
Because the rich can afford the better toys. Who do you think is benefited more; someone who proudly owns and regularly restores their grandpa's old hunting rifle, or the guy who can operate a small carrier task force?
