Starting to remind me of the Spanish Republic's efforts to create a loyal military that they could bet wouldn't want to overthrow them. That just resulted in the veterans and nearly all the units that could still actually fight jumping ship to the Nationalists once their severely troubled political situation finally went kinetic in the wake of a questionable election, leaving the Republicans with sufficiently indoctrinated but ineffectual and fragmented units (leading in turn to an overreliance on way less politically reliable militias, and having to basically build a new army from scratch during the civil war).

Come to think of it, 'politically loyal' and 'actually effective' seem to be mutually exclusive traits for most historical militaries. In the case of the American one, I've read that a comparatively greater degree of independent thinking & initiative-seeking being encouraged among their NCO corps relative to their competitors has long been a key to their effectiveness. But for fairly obvious reasons, those are exactly the traits you can't afford to have in a military whose primary purpose is being a mindlessly obedient attack dog for the regime, as the left pretty clearly wants at this point.

I'm already hearing people from DC say they you won't count as "vaccinated" if you don't have the booster, and undoubtedly this will just keep going as they come up with more and more boosters for every new variant.

The problem with moving the goal posts all the time is that it pisses people off a lot, and if your a government it wreaks your legitimacy because your constantly breaking your word to the people. Which leads to all the keys to your power wondering why the fuck they should support some one who constantly and blatantly breaks their word.

This in time leads to the person in question being stripped of power and replaced with some one more consistent.

The way shit seems to going if the United States isn't in a civil war by 2030 I would honestly be blown away that it has lasted this long. The attack on the Capitol on January 6th, 2021 was easily one of the worst days of this nation's history. If we don't do something to show the Republicans especially the Trumpet Republicans that attacking this nation is unacceptable and will not be tolerated then we may as well just roll over and accept that democracy is dead came 2024.

I mean the dude is looking more and more like Hitler by the day. The parallels to Nazi Germany of 1930-the 1940s is something that worries me greatly. We already see them waving the damn flags around and acting like he is the second coming of Jesus.

I have no doubt that should he win in 2024 and let's be real here folks if he can he will be running for the office of that I'm sure. My fear isn't him running. It's him winning. It was bad enough having to live four years under his rule but the idea of doing so again but without the need to get votes to remain worries me.

I hope we don't have a civil war in the next few years but unless we stop viewing everybody who disagrees with us like they kicked a baby I just don't see a way out of this mess. We need to be united as a nation, not ripping ourselves apart because of some nonsense about who you voted for or if you wore a mask.

Let's work through this point by point.
On Jan 6th, I watch both the feed of Trump's speech, and the CSPAN feed at the same time, though the whole course of the day.

Trump wasn't even finished speaking when the Antifa agent provacutuers started breaking barricades and pushing cops down to get to the Capitol (we know this from video that came out later) and caused the crowd to start pushing into areas they shouldn't have.

Trump called for them to peacefully make their voices heard, aka rally and protest outside in the areas that was set aside for, and when thing got bad he was on Twitter tell people not to hurt Cap police and remain peaceful, just before Jack banned him (I saw this in real time too).

What happened that day was mostly the fault of Antifa, IC, and Far-Right Fuentes like jackass agent provacutuers in the crowd starting things, and a mass crowd not knowing how things started , only where the crowd was moving. I wish the voting had not been interrupted, I wanted actual objections to the counts from states that screwed switch their elections/stuffed ballots. Trump bears a little blame for not screening the event better, but there is only so much he can do when it is a public event.

Jan 6th has had so many lies told about it to attack Trump, because the truth of that day would exonerate Trump.

Actually, upon reflection. I feel I was too harsh on General Eaton.

Considering the topic of a hypothetical Second American Civil War, I think General Eaton is EXACTLY the man the White House needs to help rebuild the Capitol Security Forces from the ground up.
