Assuming the Dems regain control of the United States Senate in 2026 or 2028 or 2030, I wouldn't be shocked if the Dems pull a McConnell & retaliate by inflicting political pain on Trump & whomever Trump's VP is by blocking judicial nominees.

... That is not a great result for the dems. Yes, they're winning there, but Maryland is extremely blue.

I am not assuming that at all.
I am saying that R should do everything they can to permanently block every democrat nominee. And continue doing so.
The only time I would consider not doing it, is if the D take over and demonstrate they are willing to let a R candidate pass.
Otherwise it is fillibuster oclock. Something that the D started. They must be punished with the same precedents they created.

You're referring to the late United States Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), who instigated this mess when he was Senate Majority Leader in 2013 ?

    Menendez reminded me of flamboyant LA Governor Edwin Edwards (D), who got indicted by the Feds back in 1985 during his 3rd term & got acquitted, but the federal indictments & trial damaged Edwards' reelection campaign in 1987 which led to the Roemer Revolution.

    Edwards of course, returned to the LA Governor's Mansion in 1991 securing 4th term, but didn't seek reelection to 5th term in 1995 due to corruption scandals.

    for the sake of being conspiratorial I approve. whatever outlandish story is least likely is my new favorite story. clearly he was going to release the story about how the lizard people were going to use jewish space lasers to turn all amphibious life into half human gay chimeric monsters to enslave the surface dwellers.

    most likely both.
    They are all corrupt and guilty of many crimes.
    The fact he was actually persecuted for his very real crimes must mean he offended someone higher up the food chain. Otherwise his crimes would have been kept in the closet with the other skeletons.
