Confederate Flags banned in the Military

Their current patriotism and love of the Constitution is not in question, I want to make that clear.

But that doesn't change the origin of the flag, as the symbol of an enemy of our nation, of slavery, and the of white supremacists.

I know some people outside the South like to use the flag as a general 'fuck you' to whatever level of the government they dislike, or simply to piss off and troll people who are not ok with it. It directly and materially supports and enables the Lost Cause mythology, and all the ugliness that it has caused.

Confederate symbols do not belong on government property, at the very least, and your bosses seem to agree.
How the hell does it support that? Like most people hell 99 of people who support the flag dont support it because racism, they support it not for the confederacy, but for thier own belief in the patriotic south.
It’s a flag you people are insane are they going to be pissed if someone puts up a unsc flag or the flag of the Roman Empire. If the flag is in someone bunk it should be allowed under freedom of expression you don’t get to tell me what a symbol means to me your not a freaken mind reader. Just because something offends you or someone else should have no bearing especially in America my god how is this hard.
The diffrence is we cant have Swastika or things similar. Since we have the EO policy in the Army, anything that could cause offense like a confederate flag, can not be hanged on base.

Off base housing they dont hive a shit.

Eh, that has been happening to the south states since the 1900. Look at GA, they changed there back in the 2000s.

They should replace it with either the Panthers Black power sign or the hammer and sickle.

Would represent their capitulation well enough.

But whatever, go on believing that this will ever stop.

I'll just leave this here.

I don't think anyone brought up the Mississippi State Flag except you and the fellow who suggested malicious compliance which you endorsed a few pages ago. 🙃

They should replace it with either the Panthers Black power sign or the hammer and sickle.

Would represent their capitulation well enough.

But we gotta compromise first.

;)

Actually Bacle already stated he doesn't care about the iconoclasm and symbols earlier in this thread. His redline is apparently graves but everything else can go (like those swarthy immigrants that apparently wronged him).

@Bacle actually believes this is some sort of victory.

I’m struggling to bring up any pride for America right now. Starting to think it would be dishonest of me to celebrate the Fourth of July.

America at this point deserves Maoist rule. Maybe not a century, more like a thousand years.

With some Khmer Rouge and Zimbabwe mixed in.

It would suitable recompense for the people who got us here.

Americans no longer deserve freedom, they deserve a thousand years of CHAZ rule. I hope they like it.

Ok motherfucker, that quip about the 'swarthy immigrants' is straight bullshit and you damn well know it.

Everyone who was in the PM knows what went down, I've repeated I don't know how many times. Ethnicity had nothing to do with that issue, and I already had to deal with the SB mods twisting it to punish me for simply relating the story.

But you just want to twist the story and add false details to smear me, out of spite and anger.

You've crossed a line here.

Keeping them in the public eye, to serve education and historical purposes, is a more justifiable reason to protect them in place than what most are saying.

Most are not arguing to keep them in public for those reasons, however.

I personally do not feel that putting them in a museum, or museums, dedicated to the Civil War/Recontruction significantly diminishes thier educational and historical value.
It's a matter of out of sight, out of mind. Think about it; when was the last time you went to a museum? Now consider the last time you walked down the street; if anything, we should have more statues everywhere, in my opinion, of sinners and saints alike. I want one of Valerie Solanas in front of my local Taco Bell, because I want people to be constantly reminded of what that crazy bitch did, and the fact that she is considered one of feminism's patron saints.

I mean they don’t stop at the museum doors what’s stopping them from saying the museum glorifyies racism and sexism and remove everything in it. Nothing nothing stops it

@Bacle seems to think that his arbitrary and already broken standard will somehow be respected...for reasons.

Chill out. I was using swarthy in the Ann Coulter sense.

Just like you were using Comfort Women in the allegorical sense.

Or bringing up the Ad Hominems about Sith Philosophy in literally every thread you have a disagreement with a particular someone.

Or strawmanning arguments as slavery advocacy and Neo-Confederate BS.

And I actually dont recall or remember what your talking about beyond what you disclosed in this thread and found the immigrant thing ironic. The fact the irony escapes you is quite hilarious though. One person's immigrant issue is another's persons comfort women reference I suppose. *shrug*

Like I said before, no one here is pro slavery and angry and spiteful about its passing but you keep statimg we're angry about it. Your obviously angry and spiteful though as these last few posts have clearly indicated. You should be happy. I mean look... Everything that's been cited in this thread is a win in your column! :D

I happen to like museums.

If it wasn't for Covid, I'd probably be going to museums a bit right now. They are rather under appreciated, there are a few good ones around here, and I've haven't been able to visit them in a bit do to moving out of town then moving back.

Confederate items belong at museums dedicated to specific battles, or military formations, or a series of museums specifically dedicate to preserving Civil War era-relics. Museums like that have the tools to safely care for them and store them for rotating exhibits.

But your idea of statues everywhere, to a massive variety of faiths, ideologies, and views...I'd be willing to go easy on Confederate symbols, if we had that going on.

I still feel removal and museum placement is the right path for now, but it should be something voted on locally, in the end. I prefer it be done legally with the local voters consent, not with violent mobs.

Likely illegal immigrant, that I did not realize was one, and that she had been trying to play me for a green card, till later. And I don't give damn how Coulter acts, you knew what you were insinuating.

And I know you only trying to 'gotcha' me after I showed my views on this matter are now more widely reflected by the GOP leadership.

This is why your fringe of the Right is losing power, because people are willing to actually stand up to you and tell you the flag of traitors is no longer welcome in the GOP's big tent.

This guy has gotta be a troll. He keeps repeating the same thing over and over again. He's always concerned about everything the right is doing too.

You know with people like @Bacle, who needs the left, we are destroying ourselves just so fine.

The republican big tent is more like Charlie Brown and the football.

That is Charlie Brown is the republican voter and Lucy the republican politicians. We always run into the football and end up flat on our backs.

We do this like Charlie Brown literally every November.

This guy has gotta be a troll. He keeps repeating the same thing over and over again. He's always concerned about everything the right is doing too.
He encountered an actual white supremacist who was his neighbor or something and it broke his mind. So it’s not concern trolling. His perspective is just utterly warped.

I literally referenced the Armed Forces Committee in regards to the Basing Rights and Nikki Haley removing the Confederate Flag in South Carolina early in the thread. I am well aware of the fact that the GOP compromises on these issues. It's a main thrust of this threads discussion. You of course don't seem to be aware of much of anything, even of what I said in this thread because your too busy strawmanning me and everyone that disagrees with you as a rape advocate and neo-confederate.

Please... stop acting so spiteful and angry. You've crossed so many lines or something. I'm a victim whose been insulted and I'm trying to save this country... something something etc...

Sadly, this is the part where I admit that I haven't been to a museum in over twenty years. As for voting on whether or not to remove a statue; while I disagree with removing them, putting it to a vote of the people is only way it should be done, if it is to be done. Not with a mob tearing them down, or local governments deciding to remove them without the consent of their constituents.

Whatever your opinion of Bacle is, I can assure you he is not a troll; he's just very passionate about this issue, and seems to be having issues managing his stress as of late.
